Babyz is adorable and fun for all ages!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Babyz (CD-ROM)
It is my pleasure to write a review for this very excellentgame. While I was shopping for software for my handicaped daughter, Ineeded software that would hold her interest. I came across this game and the box looked so cute and sounded quite like something she would enjoy, seeing as how she enjoys baby's. This program has helped her build her skills in taking care of a baby, feeding, playing, caring for it when it gets sick. This software is great for the young child or older child or even the mothers and grandmothers. I have played it myself and love it. The baby's are fun to watch as they grow up from the crawling stage to standing. In the game you start out with one babyz and you can add more babies, up to three to take care of at one time. Having to take care of three is a challenge! The baby's do get sick at times and if not taken care of properly, they will stay sick. Yonger children will need mom to help them with this game. The best age for this game would be eight years and older in order to play alone without much help. The game consist of one house, with kitchen, living room, bedroom, play room, changing room, attic, and a play yard out side. Also you can feed the babyz bottles, cookies and food or let them feed themselves and boy, do they make a mess! My daughter has excelled in this game, she now takes care of two by herself, and has taught her babyz to read, talk and stand by themselves. The game comes with a microphone that you use to talk to the babyz and help them to understand your words. As the babyz get older and understand some of your words, they then can go and find the toy that you ask them to get. If you have daughters or sons who love babies, and most do, then by all means buy this sofware for them and they will gain more responsibility in helping their own siblings.

Sooo adorable!,
This review is from: Babyz (CD-ROM)
Want a baby? Why not get one on your very own computer? "Babyz" is an adorable computer game that should spark your own kids' imaginations. The baby which is on the box you purchase will be your baby, so after installing it, Babyz asks you just what you want to name your (first) bundle of joy. Pick your name, and roll! Take your baby to the changing room and pop him/her in the tub while you go through the changing room. This room has all kinds of features: hairbrushes for those babies with hair, medicine for the sick ones, thermometers, and lots of clothes. Get your baby out, scrub it clean with the towel, and then slip on a diaper of your choice. Beware: You must change diapers once you hear a squishy noise coming from your baby, for that means it has a very dirty diaper needing to be changed. Anyway, after it's clothed in such things from a tiger suit (a must for those adventrous ones!) to a plaid jumper with navy socks, take it on a stroll in the backyard, where a slide is all ready for it, meal time, where your baby will eat everything from mashed carrots (just take the carrot out of the spoon and it will give you a blob that they will eat) to oatmeal. Put it in the microwave and wow ! Suddenly it's heated up for your baby. You can take it into the living room where it'll listen to Bingo or Sonatina, and who knows ? Your baby could start to love Minuet in G! The possibilities are endless... take your baby to the spooky attic where you can get seeds and watering cans to plant flowers in the backyard, or when baby kicks up a tantrum, settle it down for a quick nap. Once it falls asleep, listen to it via monitors in every room, and go visit the house yourself. Also, if you have more than one baby, send one to Gramma's house (don't worry, he/she can come back at any time) while you and other baby explore. Of course, Babyz do get sick, and warm clothes and constant medicine help. So get Babyz! You'll love the fun, enjoyment, blobs of food all in your kitchen (must use a towel to clean up; otherwise you've got a nice redone kitchen), and dirty diapers of Babyz from Mindscape!

Really great game!,
By Jen (Canada!) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Babyz (CD-ROM)
All I have to say is this game is REALLY good! I really enjoy dressing the babyz up! Feeding time is a bit hard, especially when u have more than one baby! All babyz have different qualities and personalities. For example one of my babyz is very laid back and easy going, while one of my other babyz is fussy and cries a lot. Some babyz will eat anything you feed them and play with any toys you give them, but others won't eat anything exept their bottle and will hardly play with any toys, except maybe one particular toy. You also have to change their diapers, which is gross because it makes squishy noises (lol). The game comes with a microphone so you can talk to your baby. The babyz gradually grow up. They start off crawling on their belly, then crawl in hands and knees then they stand and soon after that, they are full grown. Full grown babyz can take a few steps. They also learn to talk. The game offers a wide selection of foods, which include carrots, meat, veggies and peas and much more. Plus some babyz fan sites offer "hexed" food to download. Some of clothes include different colored diapers, jumpers, sleepers, sweaters and shorts and much, much, MUCH more (their is a lot of clothes). You can also download "hexed" clothes from web sites. My personal favourite outfit is the blue bubble shirt and the jeans with light blue socks, and the blue bow on the head for little girls. You have to do many other things for your babyz like bathe them, put them to sleep, read to them and play music for them. Their is also a backyard with a slide, and sometimes buterflys and bunnies come onto the screen. Most babyz like to watch and play with them! There are a lot of playscenes: the backyard, the kitchen, the living room, the play room, the bedroom, the changing room, the attic and the "secret" playpen, which you get by pressing ctrl and p at the same time. All in all, this game is very fun, addicting and even educational! I suggest you buy it as soon as possible!

I origally purchased this game for my 6 year old daughter. It is so cute, I think I play with it more than she does. They have a website where you can go to download new clothes for your BABYZ,ask questions, and get new toys. I think it's the best game I have purchased. Try IT

Ga-Ga Babyz Review!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Babyz (CD-ROM)
Babyz is a great game for kids that don't need a doll... or just someone who loves babies! Overall, I like Babyz, but I don't like the part where you need to type in your CD's serial number, because if you don't get the serial number when you buy it, then you have to ask for help and don't get your unique baby that comes on the box. Anyway, when you start the game you will adopt your baby! First you type in your serial number. (Like I said, if you don't have it, you have to ask for help.) Next you name your baby. (Example:"David Clark") Then when you ckick "OK", you will read the adoption pledge and if you agree to the things it says, click "OK" again. Congrats, you have just adopted your baby! You will be taken to the play room (one of the rooms in your virtual house) to interact with your new baby. There are lots of toyz to play with such as the block box, the clown (who makes weird noises), and the rattle (a Babyz favorite!). There is a toy chest that you can store toyz in. There are three choices of designs (my favorite is the hippo) that your toy chest can have. Your baby lives in a virtual house and depends on you to feed it when it gets hungry. To feed it, click on the virtual house button, and click on the kitchen icon. You are now in a kitchen with a high-chair. There are tons of choices of food you can use to feed your baby with. Some Babyz like hot food, so you can put the food in the microwave. There is a milk bottle in the fridge for young (or all-aged) Babyz to drink. If the baby has been fed, then later you might need to change their diaper. Signs you know they have a dirty diaper are that they cry, or they sound all squishy when they crawl. It's simple to change their diaper. Just put them on the changing table, and drag their dirty diaper in the trash can. Also in the changing room are a bunch of outfits you can dress your Babyz in, and there are HUNDREDS (at least) of combinations of clothes. Babyz can take a nap in the nursery. One thing that really helps them fall asleep is if you get a record and the record player from the family room (Brahms works best) and take it to the nursery, and then put the baby in the crib, and play the record... that works. You can get two or more intercoms from the Changing room, and then you will know your baby has woken up, or is sound asleep. The back yard is a grassy area where Bunnyz might come out and greet you! You can slide your baby down the slide (shaped like a dinosaur). If you don't want your baby to eat in the kitchen, have an outdoor picnic in the yard. If you are bored with one baby, try two or three! Click on the blue stork button to go to an adoption center with FIFTEEN DIFFERENT Babyz to choose from. The baby will be uploaded onto your adopted baby file, and then you will have playmates for your baby. Two high-chairs will be found in the kitchen for faster feeding! The attic is... pretty boring, but there are flower seeds in there that you can take to the yard and you can grow flowers. You can take pictures of Babyz and save them to print out, give to friends... whatever you want to do with them! Make sure to take a picture of your baby when it walks! Voice recognition will let Babyz talk more! If you send your baby to grandma's house and they know how to talk, they will say, "Ga-ma." When they come back, they will say, "Ma-ma." (Or "Da-da.") Babyz will grow over time and may get sick. Feed them the medicine in the high-chair. Babyz will learn to walk, talk, and will grow teeth and hair. I hope this review helped you. BUY BABYZ!!!

These Babyz are really cute! You can play with them, feed them, rock them to sleep, and talk to them (the program comes with a microphone). You can have up to three Babyz active in your "house" at once. I really recommend this game!

I Love Babyz!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Babyz (CD-ROM)
I am a 23 year old mother with a real life baby of my own who's 3 1/2. We like to play with the babyz together, however I play with them more than he does. I purchased this game for myself to play with. I own some of the Catz and Dogz software titles so I knew before hand what to expect. I love the fact that you can download add ons from the Babyz website. My son and I both really enjoy it, it brings out the "little father" in him. He gets so serious when he says "baby needs beeper changed" when they start fussing. I'd recommend this game to just about anyone. It is a really enjoying program for people of all ages. Might not be as well suited for some as the Petz programs are.

= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Babyz (CD-ROM)
Hello, I'm StoryMaker. Babyz is kinda fun and you should probaly buy...even if you have Windows XP! To have Babyz, Petz 3, and Petz 4 work on WinXP:
1. Click the "Options" button at the top to open the Options menu. 2. Click General Options. 3. Un-check "Play sounds" or whatever and click the OK button. Alright! Now Babyz, Petz 3, and Petz 4 work on your Windows XP computer! NOTE: You should do this at the VERY START of starting up your Petz game. (Babyz is a Petz game alright, only they aren't exactly petz.) Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!" |
