5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing difference!
What a wonderful introduction to a variety of Brazilian music that we rarely get to hear in the U.S.A.! Here is an excellent blend of classical Bach and classical Brasilian--and only the Brazilians could make Bach so "dancible"! You might also like Dois Irmaos, by Paulo Moura and Raphael Rabello.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Loussier
I appreciate Bach played by Argerich, Tureck, Manze, and even Loussier. I took a gamble with this one, but it sounds like Bach by Lawrence Welk. Not much depth.

Not your grandmother's Bach. This has wonderful guitar and horns and a great beat. You won't fall asleep listening to this CD!

I was influenced by the reviews to buy this ( I downloaded the mp3 version) and I couldn't be happier. It is really an enjoyable mix of Bach interpreted in a decidedly Brazilian accent. Probably prohibitively expensive at the current CD rate, but the download price is hard to pass up, and the mp3 download process couldn't really be any easier. I highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice, June 9, 2007

This is more than just "Bach lite" with his pieces played on a variety of different instruments. The music is given a decidedly Brazilian flavor. This works better on some pieces than others, but the overall effect sounds quite good to my ears. It is nice to hear the old familiars with a new and pleasing twist. I particularly liked tracks 1, 3, 7, 9, 10, 12 & 14. The current $40 price seems waaay too high, however. I got mine at the library.
