5.0 out of 5 stars Rescue Remedies for cats!, April 19, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bach Flower Remedies for Cats (Paperback)
This book helped me so much, in trying to find out why my cat was pulling her fur out. We, along with our Vet, had tried everything, and nothing seemed to work. A friend recommended I try Dr. Bach`s Rescue Remedy, that is used to calm people and pets. I tried it, and then bought this book from Amazon.com. I found answers I needed, in this book, and went to their web site to send an email, asking if they had a remedy for cats pulling out their fur. They recommended two remedies, which I ordered. My cat has finally stopped pulling out her fur, and seems much more happy now! This is a very helpful book, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has cats.

5.0 out of 5 stars This could be a life-saver, May 3, 2010

I found this book when searching in desperation for something to help my 17 year old kitty who was fading. The book is beautifully written: clear, concise, easy to work with, and provides such helpful information one can get started immediately.

Thanks to the information and ease of access, my kitty has revived considerably and seems likely to stick around for a while longer.

The authors make it clear, very rightly, that Bach remedies do NOT address physical conditions. They do, however, support the emotional and energy resources that make healing achievable. In combination with good veterinary care this book is a goldmine.

(And the authors explain how the remedies apply to humans, too, so you are getting double-value!)

HIGHLY recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Bach Flower Remedies for Cats, January 30, 2010

I have been a believer in Bach Rescue remedy for people and animals for a long time. Recently I was fostering a beautiful kitten who was very withdrawn. I bought this book in hopes of finding specific flower remedies for him. It had several suggestions which I followed. He is much more outgoing and now wants to be with a human companion if at all possible. Unfortunately he still needs a forever home but that just takes time.

This is a great book, "Bach Flower Remedies for Cats", and after reading it I decided to experiment in attempting to calm my very macho (but neutered) cat down. Eight drops at each meal, mixed in with food for about four or five days and his behavior began to
even out. He's still his wonderful, intense, playful, possessive, and very loving self, but has evened out from his overly aggressive behavior towards my other, very sweet, cat. Vine is a great remedy, and he'll continue on this program until he's stable, and I would recommend this book to all cat owners, as it offers great advice on how to help your loving companion.

And if you have similar tendencies, the remedy Vine is good for you too!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful info -- along with unnecessary preachiness, January 3, 2012

My husband and I were at our wits' ends about how to stop a newly acquired young, formerly abused cat from aggressively attacking our elderly gentleman of a cat. We decided to try the Bach flower essences (for both cats -- to mellow the attacker and to bolster the confidence of the attackee). But we needed to know exactly which essences to use, the difference between similar essences, and how to combine them. This book was very helpful for those issues. What is particularly useful is that it covers both how each essence has been/can be used for human beings, and then also how the same essences work with cats.

After reading the book I ordered the essences I thought (or hoped!) would most directly address the issues and behaviors evident in each cat. I admit I was somewhat skeptical about how/if they would work. Howevr, amazingly, within not more than two weeks we saw distinct behavior improvement in the aggressive cat, and gradually saw more strength and confidence in the gentler cat. We've continued to give the essences to the aggressive cat (very sadly, we just lost the other, sweet-tempered creature to kidney disease) and he has continued to become more and more "normal."

What I mean about this book's preachiness is that its British authors have a particular sort of new agey worldview that also includes taking some potshots at a Christian worldview. If they're into New Age stuff, ok, that's their choice; but it is entirely unnecessary and certainly off-putting for readers who are more open-minded and of a different opinion than the authors, for them to take jabs at people who don't share their approach. If nothing else, making statements that antagonize part of your potential readership isn't a great marketing ploy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must buy, March 5, 2011

Really loved this book. I have a cat that I've rescued who has severe allergies and an autoimmune disorder. Allopathic medicines were unsuccessful and caused even more harm. Switched to a raw-food diet and homeopathic remedies and had some success and improvement. Kept searching for an additional, alternative remedy to help my cat, Shiloh. I think I've finally found the missing link -- Bach Flower Remedies. With the help of this book, I was able to mix together several Bach Flowers to address all the issues Shiloh was suffering from. What an improvement. It is totally amazing. I just squirt about 8 drops of the mixture on his food 2-3 times a day. Any time I forget, he looks at his bowl and then me and meouws, reminding me that I have forgotten his drops. His excessive scratching and licking has diminished by about 70%, and his fur is finally growing back. He seems happier and more content. I believe after some time with mixing different Bach Flower Remedies, he will finally be free from all these different symptoms he has been suffering from.

Would recommend this book to anyone who has a pet with either a physical or psychological problem or even both. It is absolutely amazing what Bach Flowers can do. And, best of all, it is actually good for them and not harmful in any way. This book is written for the layperson in mind. Anybody can follow the simple directions. And, if you should make a mistake, it is no big deal. Bach Flowers are totally harmless.
