4.0 out of 5 stars Good concept, passable execution, January 19, 2007

This review is from: Bach 2 & 3 Part Inventions (Kalmus Edition) (Paperback)
This edition of the inventions & sinfonias is actually quite good value for money. The fingerings are of course a personal preference, but the main issue I find with this edition is the poor paper and so-so print quality. Still, great price, just make sure you have some decent lighting and good support when reading from this edition as the stapled back gets a bit flimsy. Otherwise it's quite good VFM. The actual music, of course, speaks for itself. And it does so in spades.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy, but otherwise perfect, September 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bach 2 & 3 Part Inventions (Kalmus Edition) (Paperback)
This book is perfect for me. If you need a lot of help to get through tough songs, such as explanations of how to play trills etc., look elsewhere. This book gives you the minimum with some dynamic and fingering recommendations that are generally helpful. The pages are clear and uncluttered with unnecessary notes, which is exactly what I was looking for.

The only negatives are that it doesn't stay open well and the paper quality could be better. I'd recommend getting it spiral bound, which you can generally do at a post office or UPS store.
