This review is from: Back After the Break (Paperback)
This is the first book published by Anita Notaro in 2003. Usually debut novels aren't that great. There's problems with the characters, or the plot, and books improve with each successive one. That's not the case with this one.

Lindsey Davidsons live in Dublin, and wakes up hungover and miserable. She's hoping to hear from someone, but the only message on her machine is one telling her to show up for an interview at a tv-station. Lindsey wonders how everything could have gone so wrong. She was on cloud 9. She had a fantastic guy, Paul, who'd planned to marry her in two months. It turns out, he changed his mind and wants to marry someone else he met in London, but hadn't told Lindsey the wedding is off. She keeps hoping he'll call and that it'll all be one big mistake. But guess, what? She got the job! I really felt for Lindsey. I mean the way Anita Notaro described her misery, actually made my chest tighten. It was so real.

So Lindsey moves on and upwards, trying to tackle the problems of a new job she doesn't know much about, dealing with her broken heart with the help of her two best friends, Debbie and Tara. I must say I wish that all of my friends would be like them. They dropped everything and moved in with her, got drunk with her, and slagged Paul off to make sure she didn't overlook his faults as she did a post-mortem of the relationship. There's a promising new prospect in the romance department, named Chris, who works in the same building as Lindsey. Just as things are going well, Paul decides he made a mistake and wants Lindsey back.

So what happens next? I'd definitely suggest you find read this book to find out! I wish there were more books like this one! I didn't want to put it down when it was finished. I hope you like it as much as I did! Happy reading! :)
