5.0 out of 5 stars It was worth [price] for this album!
If you're an ARS fan, this is a MUST have!

It is a crying shame that a lot of stuff I have on vinyl LPs can't be had on CD. I've been looking for this album for a long time. It was worth the [price] just to get the title track which is a rousing song and one of my all time favorites. The live version from "Are You Ready" is absolutely wonderful! However, there are a...

However, there are a lot of good ARS songs on this album besides the title track.

I see they've released Red Tape and some others. OK, where is "The Third Annual Pipe Dream," "Dog Days," "A Rock and Roll Alternative," "Are You Ready," etc.? Us ARS fans need those on CDs since no one ain't got a clue what a turntable is anymore! The God's honest truth: the newest stereo receiver I bought DOES NOT have a hookup for my turntable! Yeah I still have one and it works!

Buy this album if you like ARS...you won't be disappointed! It is a classic!

Regarding the person stating this is a rip-off. It is not. What you have in vinal is a combination album of ARS's first and second record. I have the same album too. As I recall back when it came ut, it was re-released to take advantage of ARS's popularity. The first Album had Rodney Justo as their lead singer, then Ronnie Hammond came on board with the second album. The first album/CD was available at some point and luckily I have both the first and second. They are both great! If you can find them, then buy them. I have everything that has been released. I just want the others Albums to be released on CD.

A pure southern rock record with rhythm and soft moments. In my opinion the best LP of the band. Highlight the ''Cold Turkey Tenn.'' track, a fabulus southern rockin' song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring Back ARS !, June 13, 2004

I once had this on vinyl too, but don't remember how many songs are missing, so it would be a disappointment to leave out anything. I still have Third Annual Pipe Dream, Are You Ready, Underdog, Champagne Jam, Boys From Doraville, and Rock & Roll Alternative...all on vinyl.

In 1973-74, I lived in the neighborhood right behind Studio One where they recorded, and being the curious kid I was, I walked in and met them. They were all very kind to me, and showed me the whole place, and let me listen to their rehearsal.

I especially like their unique blend of jazz chords with a rock tempo.

As I write this, I'm listening to their "Best Of ARS" CD. Yes indeed, Doraville WAS ONCE "a touch of country in the city", and I'm DAMN PROUD to have lived there. I still work in Doraville/Chamblee, and I guess I'll always love it in my heart, despite its virtual demise.

I hope Ronnie Hammond is doing better. Any true ARS fan knows what I mean.

Life is a colorful thing,

Produzzerguye Paul Hause

This album is good. This is their first album. And it's very rare. My favorite Atlanta Rhythm Section album is Quinella *****.
