So long as you don't have any hard fruit to work with, you should be fine with this apple slicer. We used it on a pear for canning, and one of the dividers snapped loose. I returned to Amazon to purchase the OXO apple slicer, like I should have done in the first place.

This is a steel apple slicer I got from Amazon.
Got it for $5.99 condition mentioned as new but the item looks used as edges are corroded. I saw better quality slicer in dollar shop. First time I had such bad experience ordering from Amazon

The blades are a bit on the thick side. They are also not very sharp. You will need a little extra effort to press it down because of the thickness of the blades. You can cut bigger apples, just make sure the apple is right at the very center of the slicer. Easy to clean. I would check a number of other slicers' reviews before buying one.

just like my old one!,

I have one from the 1960's and this one works just as well... I did notice it is a bit smaller... so it's not great for very large apples and pears. But it's sharp and makes coring and slicing apples a breeze!
