5.0 out of 5 stars DELICIOUS, NUTRITIOUS, AND FUN !, November 22, 2005
This review is from: Back to Basics SD4RED Disney Smoothie Maker (Kitchen)
Although a kitchen has long been known as the heart of a home it will also be the most popular spot once it boasts a Disney Smoothie Maker. Who could resist smiling when seeing this rotund red producer of good things? It's almost 19 inches high and stands on non-slip rubber white "feet" just waiting to blend fruits and vegetables into delicious, healthful drinks.

If you have kids who push vegetables around one their plates (as we did), just serve them a veggie smoothie to make sure they get their daily dose of vitamins. For yourself when you want a quick morning burst of energy or want to tote your lunch in a thermos, try the following Strawberry Banana Smoothie:

1 cup plain fat-free yogurt

2 ripe medium bananas

1 cup sliced fresh strawberries or unsweetened frozen strawberries

1 cup orange juice

1 cup ice

Puree all - nothing's better!

For a parent's peace of mind, there are several child safety features built into this Disney Smoothie Maker, such as a locking goblet (smoothie maker won't run unless the goblet is secure in base) and a locking lid.

One thing we've found the young ones really enjoy is a "smoothie party" - and this Disney Smoothie Maker is all the entertainment they need!

1.0 out of 5 stars the worst product i've ever bought on amazon.com, March 8, 2007
By
This review is from: Back to Basics SD4RED Disney Smoothie Maker (Kitchen)
i've bought hundreds of items on amazon over the years, and have never been compelled to write a review -- until this morning, during my umpteenth fight with this appliance. i HATE this smoothie maker. it's just about impossible to situate in the base. once you do manage to do that, it's just about impossible to get the lid on correctly, to allow you to turn it on. when you do turn it on, it makes a burning smell, and doesn't do a good job of blending. when you're fighting to get it situated in the base, the otherwise useless pouring mechanism leaks, and as another reviewer observes, it's big. cumbersome, ridiculous.

in short, this is some mickey mouse smoothie maker they're selling!
