Lately, I've been really dissapointed in the Animorphs books -the ghostwriters just haven't been doing a very good job. However,this book was probably twice as good as the last ten books combines. Written by the orriginal author, K. A. Applegate, BACK TO BEFORE has everything I've come to expect from Animorphs. When Jake wishes that he never got involved in the battle for Earth, everything changes - and it's not, to quote the back cover, such a wonderful life! I thought that this was probably one of the best Animorphs books ever. I hope that that K. A. Applegate does the actual writing on some more; even if the others were half as good as this, they'd be great.

This mega book was neat in that it tied directly in with #41 released at the same time. No spoilers here, but both books deal with Jake's brother, Tom, and the continuing problem of his involvement with the Sharing group.

I had hoped some time ago Tom could be rescued from being a yerk infested controller. Hopefully, this mega book & #41 are paving the way for some really big changes for the group.

This book deals with Jake's continuing angst with being the leader of the group & the group's tiredness at fighting, what looks like a losing battle with the Yerks. What would happen if they had not chosen on that fateful day to walk through the constructions site? Would all their lives have taken a different turn? Who has not wondered how life would be different if the other door had been opened.

This series continues on with the same twists and turns readers have come to expect.

Lately, the Animorphs books have been lacking effort. But this book changed all that. In one word, it was awesome. The characters were great, the plot was great, it was everything a fan could ask for. On a side note: The cover by itself was simply amazing, probably the best ever. Very appocalyptic.

Ever sence taking that short cut through the cunstruction site, 5 kids, Jake,Rachel,Cassie,Tobias, and Marco have regreted it. They get there wish, and take the safe way home. Not only can the animorphs not morph, but they don't have a clue about the Yeerks. Soon Tobias joins the Sharing, and regrets it, never to be free again (he's a controller). Jake gets suspicous over his brother, Tom's, strange behavior, and decides to investigate. Marco and Rachel see Marco's dead mom. Atleast they thought she was dead. And Cassie feels that something is wrong, feels that something isn't right. And Ax is alone on Earth, trying to warn humans of the Yeerks. And, when everything seem's out of place, they know they have to do something. Megamorphs #4, Back to Before.

This was a fantastic book. They don't know what's going on, or what to do about it. But they feel that something is wrong, and they know they have to fight to stay alive, for there sake and for Earth. Animorph fans, this is a must!

First of all, I'll just give my version of the summary. ::drumroll: Here it is:

What if? What if the Animorphs had never went through the construction? Never met Elfangor? Never got the morphing power? Never known of the evil, that is, and still is out there? After a horrific battle, the Drode offers Jake the chance to undo it all. Make it never happen. Jake finally weakens. He accepts. Yeah, so maybe they never met Elfangor. And maybe they never got the morphing power. But that doesn't mean that the Yeerks still aren't changing there lives. You'll discover something about Cassie that makes it all make sense. You'll love the ending and suddenly get how it all fits. You'll love this book, and make it right up there with #19 and #33.

So maybe my summary isn't the greatest in the world, but hopefully it helped you know more about the book. And a few more things. Yes, there's a little thing with Rachel and Marco, though nothing big. The cover is simply amazing, and you'll gawk at it for ages. One thing that I didn't like, it should have been much longer. She should have stretched the plot longer, perhaps make the ending better. Other than that, I sincerely reccommend this book to any anifan at all. It's one of my favorite books, and in one word, it's amazing.

I loved it! It costed me $7.00 when I got it, but the cover alone is worth it. The fold out cover is the best I've seen with animorphs! The book was kinda boring until it hit page 75 or so, then it got really good. It tells a lot about the animorphs, and the ellimist's game with crayak. If you haven't read it yet, you have to.

What would you do if you had the opportunity to change your life? Not just where you live or who you hang out with, but your past, present, and future? Sounds like it might be pretty cool, right? Well, that's what Jake thought. He thought it might be easier if the Animorphs had never existed. If they'd never met Elfangor. If they all had the chance to be "normal" kids. Jake gets his wish.

But things aren't quite as simple as they seem. Just because the Animorphs no longer exist doesn't mean the Yeerks no longer exist. Except now Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Cassie, and Marco can't morph. They don't even know the Yeerks are out there. And it's not such a wonderful life...

If you want to know more... buy it! This is the best book from Megamorphs!

Back to Before tells about what would have happened to the Animorphs if they never walked through the construction site. This is good and bad for the Animorphs, because they can live their lives not having to worry about the yeerks, but the yeerks are still on Earth and now the Animorphs have no power to stop the yeerks. This book also shows what happened to the Animorphs, individually, for example, Tobias is a nerd and "bully magnet" so he decides to join The Sharing, and becomes a controller. Also, Cassie begins to remember things that happened when they were a group. All in all, this was a good book to read because of the different point of view and it is cool because it showed what would've happened if there were no Animorphs.

After a particularly grisly battle, Jake goes back home, where he is confronted with a proposition by the Drode: to go back and never walk through the construction site. Jake weakens and accepts, yet there's a catch: the Yeerks are still taking over Earth and now Jake and the others don't know about it and can't morph. You know what they saying by trying to deal with the devil. This book is totally realistic is how events may have played out if the five never went through the construction site and Aximili was on his own. What's scary is how perfectly logical and understandable character's thought processes are-leading to the events that follow.

This book also explains the "why not" go to the news and announce to the world that the Yeerks are here. I liked that extrapolation. Readers also get to see what it was like for Ax down in the Dome at the bottom of the ocean. We also get to see how the war really was Rachel's destiny. Tobias's alternate future is probably the saddest. Cassie ends up being the heroine, the Ellimist's ace-in-the-hole, at conclusion that further enlightens the relationship between the Animorphs and the Ellimist. This was definitely an excellent Megamorph book and I highly recommend it to any Animorph fan. Alternate futures are always fun to play around in.

This book is one of the best Animorph books yet. The characterinvolvement and plot are intriguing and totally pull you into thestory, right off at the beginning! I haven't enjoyed a good Anibook like this one for a long time. I highly reccommed it to all Animorph/Nonamimorph readers!
