About the Author

Jennifer P. Schneider, M.D., Ph.D. is a physician practicing internal medicine and addiction medicine in Tucson, Arizona. Her empathetic approach in this book was fueled by her personal experience with a husband who had multiple affairs. Her other books include "Sex, Lies, and Forgiveness: Couples Speak on Healing from Sex addiction" (co-authored with Burt Schneider), "Cybersex Exposed: Simple Fantasy or Obsession?" (co-authored with Robert Weiss), and "Disclosing Secrets: When, to Whom, and How Much to Reveal Addiction Secrets" (co-authored with Dr. Deborah Corley).

This book was suggested to me during the "crazy" times with my soon to be ex-husband. It saved me. It was the words I needed to hear-honest and without pycho babble that turns me off. It gave me back a positive feeling about my future- without my husband. There are a lot of examples of other women and what was happening to them that I am sure some you will find a connection with. Then I found lots of AHA moments that became the impetus to making changes. If you are in an out of control relationship situation, stuck, angry and scared and don't know what to do next, read this book. It gave me the insight and the tools to getting my life back.
I am writing this years after reading this book, and still count it as one of the most life changing books I have ever read.
