5.0 out of 5 stars Solid teachings over a broad range of subjects, October 15, 2009
This review is from: Back to the Cross: (Paperback)
Back to the Cross wasn't written in book-style by Watchman Nee, but rather is a compilation of his teachings, writings, and correspondences. The writings contained in this small treasure of 171 pages is typical of the rest of Nee's work, very straight-forward and rich in deep spiritual truths that are seldom heard today. I was blown away the first time I really started digging into Watchman Nee's writings. Even though I had been a believer for several years, his work revealed to me riches in Christ that I had never heard about before.

The book covers a wide variety of topics. One chapter deals with positional truths such as the believer's inclusion in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, while another chapter is a letter written to the Exclusive Brethren explaining the need to accept all believers into fellowship, regardless of doctrinal differences. One of the most fascinating pieces in Back to the Cross is a treatise written by Nee documenting the recovery of spiritual truths throughout history.

This book will serve as a strong encouragement to anyone of the faith. Anyone who is familiar with Watchman Nee's other writings will find a similar theme in this work, always coming back to the centrality and supremacy of Christ Jesus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Back to the Cross!!!, June 4, 2007

This review is from: Back to the Cross: (Paperback)
Watchman Nee's writing has been preserved in this little volume, from teaching he gave back in the early '20's and 30's at different functions, and it's remarkable this teaching is needed today. Compared to the fluff which passes itself off as "Christian" today, this is a very sobering collection of teachings which harks us back to the New Testament and to the teachings of Christ and the Apostles. The Cross-where we received forgiveness of sins through Christ's shed blood. The Cross-where we reckon ourselves dead to sin and alive to Christ, by our identification with him as being crucified with Christ. The Cross-where we come to God, not on our own merit, but on the merit of the Risen Christ, who rose again for our justification and glorification.

What a treasure!!! And highly recommended!!!

I really enjoyed this title by Watchman Nee.Back To The Cross reminds us we have to know what happened and recognize it's significance to our present-day lives as Christians.Much like his other works, this title provokes thought and entices a reader to read the WORD -that is,the BIBLE-
