some misguided reviews here. seems you really do have to be English to appreciate them.
whats with the Mr Bean comparison???? hes crap
well for a start it was released in 1985 not 1995.
"they write songs about the most mundane things like time flies by when your the driver of a train"??????
"speeding out of trumpton with a cargo of cocaine"
always happening to me that. missed the point a bit i think. windy miller would be turning in his grave.
the first and one of their best albums of which there are many

The OTHER band from Liverpool you should know about, April 11, 2007

From start to finish, a UK national treasure. Americans may not know who the hell Fred Titmus, Len Ganley or Nerys Hughes are, but the endless name-checking (rest easy, they do mention Eartha Kitt and Jim Reeves), skilled hooks and lyrical liberties will have you on the floor in no time. Saying you have to be a Brit to appreciate this just wrong. No matter which side of the pond you live on, lines like "but the nauseating bashfulness of early Diana (RIP) made me want to set fire to commemorative tea towels" will stick with you for the rest of your natural life.
Fans of The Fall and old-school honky tonk will be doubly delighted.

This album is...ace. Melodic, funny, inciteful and above all a real good listen. Ideal for getting ready to go out or sitting down to relax with, for lifting you up or keeping you feet on the ground.
