3.0 out of 5 stars Trumpton Riots
I first heard this album when it first came out in 1994,then lost track of it.I have just picked up a copy again and it is as good and funny as i first remembered it.
Trumpton riots is based on a UK animated childrens programm from the 1970's but with lyrics re-worked in the classic HMHB mode.
this is a funny and quirky cd that deserves a listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars The OTHER band from Liverpool you should know about, April 11, 2007

From start to finish, a UK national treasure. Americans may not know who the hell Fred Titmus, Len Ganley or Nerys Hughes are, but the endless name-checking (rest easy, they do mention Eartha Kitt and Jim Reeves), skilled hooks and lyrical liberties will have you on the floor in no time. Saying you have to be a Brit to appreciate this just wrong. No matter which side of the pond you live on, lines like "but the nauseating bashfulness of early Diana (RIP) made me want to set fire to commemorative tea towels" will stick with you for the rest of your natural life.

Fans of The Fall and old-school honky tonk will be doubly delighted.

This album is...ace. Melodic, funny, inciteful and above all a real good listen. Ideal for getting ready to go out or sitting down to relax with, for lifting you up or keeping you feet on the ground.

4.0 out of 5 stars Before Mr Bean uttered a word, there was HMHB, January 7, 2002

This album is hysterical! One listen to this album and you will either love it or contemplate breaking some furniture. HMBH have been around for ages, back when the Smiths were still charting this album was released to mixed reviews. You didn't have to be British to like it, but you had to have a sense of humour. HMHB took the most mundane subjects and made catchy pop songs out of them ie: "Time flies by when you're a driver of train..."; or the Price is Right connection of "Jesus Christ come on Down".

I would recommend this album to anyone who needs to get away from reality once in a while. Their follow up "Back Again in the DHSS" is also very good.
