5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful score to a wonderful movie
Alan Silvistri returns once again to reprise the music that he did from the first film in the trilogy. The soundtrack doesn't disapoint at all. 2.0 out of 5 stars This score is weak
All the best music in BTTF 2 was rehashed from the score to the original film. This is good actually, since for many years, a lot of the good music from BTTF was never released, such as the opening bars of "Hoverboard Chase," which is identical to the "Skateboard Chase" from part 1. It's just not as good because Skateboard Chase had Biff's motif which was way more...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful score to a wonderful movie, February 24, 2003

This review is from: Back To The Future II: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Alan Silvistri returns once again to reprise the music that he did from the first film in the trilogy. The soundtrack doesn't disapoint at all. All pure orchestra music full of Back to the Future themes, exciting moments and tempos to fit the moment as if you were watching the movie all over again on your stereo.

The main title starts off with the familiar Back to the Future theme and seems even more polished and full of life then it was in the first movie. Exciting scores like the Hoverboard chase which has Marty skateboarding around a future Hill Valley on a Hoverboard while being chased by Griff and his gang is a very exciting moment that will get you into the action that was going on in the movie. Another great selection would be the Tunnel Chase towards the end of the movie where Marty has to get a sports almanac off of Biffs car as he is being chased into a tunnel. The music perfectly fits the moment. He's triumphant at certain points and in big trouble at others. Alan really sets the tone well for every moment of these action scenes almost bringing you right into the movie with every horn and string instrument that plays its notes.

The soundtrack is not just full of action moments though. It has very good building up the moment pieces as well . Burn the book when Marty finaly gets the almanac back and everything is restored is just well performed and Alternate 1985 sends chills down your spine to fit the new environment they find themselves in. Every song on the album is unique but still has that Back to the Future touch to it to keep things familiar with the trilogy score.

I highly recomend this album to any fan of a good movie soundtrack and especialy one who loves the Back to the Future trilogy. This is an album that won't disapoint and it definitely is Alan Silvistri at his best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful and amazing, May 23, 2000

This soundtrack is one of my favorites. I'm a big fan of the BTTF Trilogy. In the Trilogy, the second film has always been my favorite. I love the music so much, that I sometimes act out scenes and recite dialog from the film. I do this in synch w/ the music alone; I don't have to watch the film to act and recite.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is Alan Silvestri's best work!, September 23, 1999

Unfortunately, this movie wasn't as well known as the first, but it was better in it's own way. First of all, most people thought that the storyline was too complicated. It is not! Second, it had a great score that was accompanied by great music tracks that supported the plot. It also was a great movie experience although it was released four years after the original BTTF. If this soundtrack had been expanded with more tracks, it would rock! But it still does even without certain tracks. BTTF rules!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best BttF CD, January 4, 2000
This review is from: Back To The Future II: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I've had this CD for years, and I still haven't grown tired of it. The music captures the spirit of the movie, and I can't emphasize enough how much I like it. I don't care too much for the soundtracks to the 1st and 3rd movies, but this one is great, you won't be disappointed.

On most occasions, the score is usually not as good as the film or vice-versa. But this entire Back to the Future series is, in my opinion, one of the finest pieces of music ever produced. Out the three, this score is definately my favorite. It starts and ends with a much cooler version of the Back to the Future theme that you makes feel like you are actually traveling through time with Doc and Marty. Another one of my favorite songs is the "Tunnel Chase" song, in which Marty is trying to get the almanac back from Biff by using the hoverboard. This soundtrack is not only exciting but a breath of fresh air for anyone who enjoys the scores of John Williams or Jerry Goldsmith.

Another compliation of excellent score. The main title is great. Well worth the money. Although it is hard to read the track labels on the back of the CD case. But a great score next to Forest Gump.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silvestri in his finest Class, October 20, 1999

BTTF 2 is quite simply a breathtaking, much undervalued film score I believe. When You listen to it, you immediately become drawn in to Silvestri's captivating ability to hold such dramatic and imaginative lines of music! You feel as your part of the many films sequences, ranging from action to drama, to romance, to mystery, to adveture, etc, etc. The key theme is retraced back and forth along the whole CD, so you never lose touch with that 'adventure feeling' of the first movie. The introduction of the new 'future' themes are really great and its such a good soundtrack to own because the movie has alot of BTTF 1 in it as well, so you never lose touch with the heart of the original. It truly is a wonderful, wonderful score and you get so much value for money with 13 tracks of pure wonder. Some highlights are the advneture score lines of "main title", the thrill of the 'hoverboard chase' and the mystery of 'alternate 1985'.

I listen to this in my discman , as i ride on my skateboard to uni everyday and I sometimes feel like Im in the movie, such is the power of silvestris score to make you just wanna grab a hoverboard and nail 'Biff' and the bad guys!!

This is a Must Own! You have to have it! So, what are you all waiting for?? Time to go back to the future and get this CD, you always wondered about! BTTF 2 wont let you down, i promise you that!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, May 26, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Back To The Future II: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This CD is wonderful. Let's start at the beginning.

TRACK 1: Good song; Good mixture of all of the songs on the CD. TRACK 2: Long, but not bad; I picture Marty gazing at the future. TRACK 3: Another good song; Strong; Powerful; I see Marty flying away from Biff and the bad guys on his new form of transportation: The Hoverboard. TRACK 4: Not my favorite song; Still very good; This is the music in the backround while 2015 Biff examines the DeLorean. TRACK 5: Not my favorite song; Played well; Good quality; Music where Marty finds George McFly's grave. TRACK 6: Not my favorite song; Music from when Marty finds himself in Alternate 1985 where the cars are burning and things are wrong. TRACK 7: Not my favorite song; Sounds like track 6: Alternate 1985; TRACK 8: Not my favorite song; Soft song; When Doc from 1985 sees Doc from 1955. TRACK 9: Ok song; Song when Marty finds "The Book": Gray's Sports Almanac in the Blast From the Past Store. TRACK 10: Ok song; Song when Marty is in the tunnel escaping from Biff on a hoverboard. TRACK 11: BURN THE BOOK is the best; My favorite song; Song used when Marty is burning the wretched Almanac that causes so many problems; I picture Marty looking down at the Almanac as it burns; Also the song in the backround as Marty zooms down the road in the DeLorean before he goes back to regular 1985. TRACK 12: Great song; Beginning is slow, but the end is good; Song is used when a guy from Western Union comes to Marty and gives him a letter from Doc telling him that he (Doc) is alive and well living in the year 1885. TRACK 13: Another great song; End credits; Again sums up whole soundtrack.

A Must! Excellent! Get Back to the Future 1, 2, AND 3. You'll love them.
