4.0 out of 5 stars It's like you are IN the movie!!! November 10, 2011
By Jwoody
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The game released as one episode every month almost one year ago.. I didn't want to download it from PSN store because Im a fan of the Back To The Future films, and I really wanted to have it as a disc in my game collection.I heard that they are going to release it later on retail, so I was patient and I purchased it recently..

This is a graphic adventure game like the old classics, but the good ones! Ok this is not a big budget production but still, the aesthetic of the graphics is very good. The characters are a bit in comic mode, the enviromennts are colorful, the animations are much better than other telltale games I played. But THE STORY, Oh this is REALLY amazing! It is like BTTF part IV.. The writer of the films, was the consultant for the script, and he used many ideas that they had in mind when they filmed the movies, but they never used.

You feel so much like Marty as you playing, and it is so nice and satisfyig to trying to change the future like in the movie!! The immersion it was so strong for me.. All the episodes have really good moments but the episode 3 it was the best for me, much darker and very original...

Every episode it is almost 3-4 hours long. (I didn't use any hint system.

The music is the original, plus some nice additions, the voice over also is really good, Christopher Lloyd, the original Doc gives excellent performance, and the newcomer AJ LoCascio is like the real Michael Fox..

The puzzles are a bit easy, but not SO easy as I thought reading other reviews.

This game has already a place in my heart like the Back To The Future original movies, thank you Telltale for make the decision to make a BTTF game. Highly Recommended for adventure fans and fans of the movies.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gotta get back in time November 13, 2011
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Despite being a massive franchise/cash cow, BTTF has had a pretty choppy history when it comes to video games. The first game for the NES was unbelievably awful. BTTF Part II had two completely different incarnations for the Commodore Amiga and Super-Famicom (never available outside of Japan) that were somewhat true to the story but never successful. Only Back to the Future Part III had a wider release as a video game. I owned it on the Commodore 64 and Genesis but it was way too hard.

Now, after 25 years, Telltale Games have finally given the fans of the movie and the video-gaming community an official, real-deal BTTF adventure series co-written by Bob Gale himself. How does it measure up? I'll review each episode individually.

Episode 1: It's About Time

Opening a few months after the events of BTTF Part III, with the DeLorean destroyed by a train and Doc living out his life with Clara and boys in many different eras, Marty begins to miss his old friend and is sad to see the city auction off his belongings. But when the time vehicle suddenly reappears (since it's a time machine it can never be completely destroyed forever, I guess) Marty must travel back to 1931 and break Doc out of jail for burning down Kid Tannen's speak-easy.

As a graphic adventure game, and as a BTTF adventure, it's very entertaining and well-written without giving the impression it's put together by sycophantic fanboys. It really does feel like an authentic extension of the BTTF universe and even casual fans of the movies will get a kick out of it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Scott!! Back to the Future the game. December 19, 2011
Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Intro
=====
If you grew up with the movie Back to the Future series like me, I am sure you will like this a lot. This game can actually treat as the fourth installment to the series, with voice acting by the original "Doc Brown" Christopher Lloyd and story created in cooperation with movie series Co-Writer and Producer, Bob Gale.

Story
=====
This is a complete new story but base on the same formula of the past three movies. Doc and Marty is once again travel between different years to save themselves and restore timeline continuum. The game contains five episode, which each contain its own cinematic theme and climax. It is rather like a animation than a video game.

Gameplay
========
Very similar to other games developed by Telltale, the control and gameplay is very simple. This game is a graphic adventure game with a point-and-click interface. That means you will be using a pointer to control the character walk around, gather items, and make conversations with NPCs. The choices made in dialogue will lead to clues for solving puzzles and reveal the story. Don't expect actions, racing, etc, because you will be disappointed as there is none in the game. Highly recommend you to download the first episode on the Playstation Network for free and try it out if you have never played any games by Telltale. Occasionally, the control and game loading are a little bit laggy and insensitive, but it is only a minor issue.

Verdict
=======
With all five episodes pack in one disc and provide 10~15 hours of game time. It is a MUST BUY title for Back to the Future fans. I personally enjoyed the fun and interesting story very much.

Fun: 10/10
Score: 8/10

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I thought
The game is more like a movie than a game. You play a little but it's mostly picking a scenario and watching what happens.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's fun at times and boring others.
Not that amazing experience, if you like the films and/or the point and click kind of videogames you will like it, if you aren't fan of the genre it gets a little bored at times.
