This book, one of a series of six books, is a collection of the author's memories of growing up in the South. It is a fine book to pick up when there is not a lot of time for reading. It is possible to read only one episode at a time, or several, with the book at hand to bring a pleasant moment in a day Cooper has a keen eye and sharp ear to uncover meaning in the simplest of events. The reviving of memories can bring smiles and tears as well, and both can be found in these pages. The writer has the ability to take us back to places we all want to relive. These events are emphasized as a journey that will hopefully lead us "back to the garden" where we may find peace and happiness.
