5.0 out of 5 stars More than just a high school reunion!, May 21, 2007
By
This review is from: Back To Mr & Mrs (Harlequin Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Cade and Melanie were the "It" couple in high school: prom king and queen, everyone's "happily ever after" dream team. That is, until last year when they separated, Cade moved out, and Melanie opened her own coffee shop, Cuppa Life.

Everything in their lives boils down to a multiple choice question: Yes or no?

When Melanie and Cade are asked to speak at their 20-year high school reunion, Melanie accidentally says "yes." Cade says "yes" to Melanie and "no" to the divorce papers, prompting many conversations and some passionately heated moments. Ultimately, the Golden Couple find that they must make some choices about their future, without repeating the mistakes of their past.

As in any Shirley Jump romance, the reader is guaranteed several things: likeable and strong heroines, handsome heroes, humorous situations, and a plot that never lags. Back to Mr and Mrs does not disappoint.

This book resonated strongly with me, as I'm facing my own 20-year reunion this summer. It's a time of evaluation and soul-searching, of last-minute diets and shopping for the perfect outfit. I strongly identified with Melanie's desire to do something of value and Cade's desire to do something quite different from what he'd trained to do. I am equally delighted that this book had a very happy ending. I am looking forward to reading this book's sequel, Married by Morning, which features Cade's twin brother, Carter.
