Product Description

The Back Porch ComposTumbler is nature's way of recycling and reusing decayed plants and organic matter by converting it into a dark humus full of concentrated micro-organisms that release nutrients back into the soil to help grow new, healthy plants. The ComposTumbler is so easy to use! Simply gather up your old leaves, your grass clippings and your garden scraps and put them in the ComposTumbler. Close the door and give the handle a few turns. Each day give the handle a few quick, easy turns to make sure air circulates inside. 4 - 6 weeks later open the door and voila! You have the same rich, fluffy, sweet compost that used to take a year to make the old way.

The customer service from the ComposTumbler number is excellent. Mine came with a defective door latch and they immediately sent me another.

This would be best if you also have a large compost pile or bin somewhere else in your yard. Sadly, you miss having worms be part of the process since the composter is not on the ground, tho fruit files seem to like it just fine.
Easy to wheel around, medium to assemble, looks more attractive than a pile or open bin. Put your open bin in the far recesses of your yard and have this one handy by the kitchen door!

We bought one, but really should have two (or three). When one is full and "composting," we need another to add stuff to. They suggest putting a catch basin under the unit to collect the "compost tea," but it needs to be very flat and wide. It's hard to get the holes on the bottom lined up with a narrow collector and you can't use anything very tall.
