Music, as with any of the arts is much more subjective then say just to buy a hand tool or a electric razor. I myself have a very wide range of music interests. I have from time to time allowed a prejudice to creep in and not listen to a artist. Sometimes it has held true for my taste, sometimes not. This was one time I wish I had listened a little sooner. I will not go into her life and death, I have no idea what demons (I use that term loosely) may have been driving her. But as far as this song goes it gave me a brief look into the talent and emotion that was there. Amy (if I may use her first name), to me had an incredible potential. This song is very emotional, melancholy and haunting. It jumped right to one of my constant favorites. And yes I love songs that are moving, upbeat or bring down the roof so to speak but then there are times to lay back and contemplate things. This is a song for those times. If you get a chance, view the video for it on Youtube. I have since listened to more of her songs, as with others artist some I liked, some I didn't , such is personal taste. I can only imagine what she may have been able to do in her life had she been able to stay with us. No, I am not painting her as an innocent by no means, though it seems like something must have happened in her life to create the path she took, the path that I could, as many others did see coming. If you haven't listened to her, try this one as a start. Of course bear in mind that my review and $4.00 might get you a coffee at Starbucks. At any event, I wish she could have stayed longer.
