GUCCI MANE
The Return of Mr. Zone 6 (biography)

Before achieving widespread success, most rappers are forced to endure a series of hardships. But few have gone through the same kind of trials and tribulations that Gucci Mane has. Despite the pitfalls, Gucci Mane takes each moment in stride, both playfully and insightful.

After building up a solid buzz in the South in the early ... Read more in Amazon's Gucci Mane Store

Editorial Reviews

2007 release, the first major label release for Atlanta, GA's most controversial artist. While other rappers stress platinum plaques, Gucci hasn't forgotten the route he took to stardom and this album has something for everyone. He may be known for his controversy, but he's trying to gain respect as a songwriter and entertainer and he'll be bangin' them out till he can't bang no more! With the struggles of his past in his rearview mirror, Gucci is settled in for his ride to the top. 14 tracks including 'Freaky Gurl' (Remix) featuring Lil' Kim and Ludacris.

2.0 out of 5 stars Back To The Craphouse December 13, 2007
Format:Audio CD
There's plenty of things wrong you could say about Gucci Mane. Let's start with the obvious. He really cant rap(although he's a lyrical genius in comparison to Toy Soulja Boy). He raps the same on every song(rappers who do this is asking for people to get tired of them) making it a chore to listen to him. He has no personality(he just drones on and on and on). Note to Gucci Mane: If people are accusing you of being a Jeezy clone, the last thing you need to do is to imitate anything that he is known for. Unfortunately, Jeezy Mane aka Young Gucci never got the memo because he uses the man's adlibs all over the album(you know how Jeezy says YEAAH on every track). There are about two songs that are decent on this album(dont get your hopes up). I Know Why feat Pimp C(RIP), Rich Boy and Blaze 1 is okay and even though I think that track is incredibly goofy, the Freaky Gurl remix feat Lil Kim and Ludacris is alright. I Might Be(feat Game and Shawnna) also known as Pillz is wack and even though The Game's verse was decent he could not save that track from being a bust and the hook by Shawnna is the dumbest hook I've heard all year. 16 Fever and Stash House have some dope beats to them but Gucci Mane's monotonous droning makes those tracks hard to enjoy. 15 Minutes Past The Diamond, Know What Im Talking Bout and Jump The Line are all wack. Trey Songz(he wonders why people sleep on him as a singer when he makes bad decisions like this?) shows up on the forgettable Drink It Straight. Letoya Luckett(WHAT IS SHE DOING HERE???) shows up on the terrible G-Love(U Dont Love Me) an obligatory player-who's-afraid-of-commitment type of track. The Nitti-produced Im Cool would clear the Soul Train. The last joint, Ballers(feat Shawnna) is a head-scratcher. Read more ›
