4.5 STARS - Substance!!!,
By dtm (ct USA) - See all my reviews

Love this record , 4.5 stars because these guys have some room to grow, but there is definatly somthing special going on here. "Jam" bands often get a bad rap as far as singing and songwriting goes, The Brew has these skills in spades. Singing is wonderfull, especially the lead vocals, songs are well crafted and original. Although this band will blow your doors off with extended jams in a live setting, they keep their studio efforts concise and focused. Influences are refreshing ranging from The Beatles to Genisis, Pink Floyd and Steely Dan. Their sound however, is all their own. Buy this record if you like good music, period.

Watched the band perform live on CN8 (local tv station in the philly area) and I believe I've seen them live at a festival as well - Fresh, Fun and lyrics are picked perfectly - I recommend this band/cd to anyone who loves pat mcgee band, Tea leaf green, etc etc.

saw them open for tea leaf... blown away, every song stands out... this album sounds beautiful, great production- the songs rock, well written, great solos... all great musicians, vocals are awesome, sweet guitar tone... overall vibe is a mix between police reggae and queen epicness... really really cool sound... set apart from other jam bands in many ways, they def have their own nitch, i find myself coming back to this album all the time because it is so new and refreshing...and the message is back to the woods! down with the cities and up with the trees, lots to love here of course crank these guys up and spread the peaceful vibe i love the dead, phish, umphreys all the rest... and i love the brew, i would see them again in a heartbeat... i think they are coming back to the vibes, hopefully soon on a main stage |
