This is quite a discovery of a band, for anyone looking for a group that expresses their influences without being weighed down by them. Their sound can momentarily resemble Pearl Jam, at other times ACDC. The songs are energetic with catchy beats. Michelle's vocals are smooth and rich, without being airy or overly stylized to a certain metal genre or era. The band has been together for eleven years, which explains their influences. This is why the band's second album gets the rating it did: for being both reflective and refreshing. Homegrown and youthful. Based on my taste, she could use backup vocals and a occasionally they sound a little too much like ACDC. That is just my feel, though. This is a great band from Chicago.
