4.0 out of 5 stars another lillingtons hit!
its really great to see such a kick-a** band like the lillingtons constantly pushing into new territory. this album continues right where "death by television" left off; anthemic, driving, and consistant. its amazing how much a band can learn from the ramones without sounding like the ramones! you can really sense the guiding hands of ben weasel and mass...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great but definately worth listening to
Oki, so this CD isn't as great as their first, "Death by Television", but still isn't as sucky as some of the guys below points it out to be. I bought this cd first, and must admit that it is very monotonous which is very unfortunate because there are some very great songs on this cd. my favorites are Mr. so & so, El pamino, the russians are coming and thunderball. but...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but this much of a change seems to quick, May 15, 2003

I really liked this album a lot, but it's very different from their first album. This isn't a bad thing, I'm all for bands changing and evolving. But their first album was a lot more "poppy" very much in the sprit of The Ramones and this new album as a faster, loud sound to it. Which is good but I just wish it was a bit more like the first one. This much of a change seems to fast. Don't get me wrong I REALLY liked this cd alot, and on some levels it's actually better than the first. Im just saying if they wanted to go in this direction they should have had a "transition" album. In my opinion this album should have been their 3rd album. But regardless, The Lillingtons is a promising band that I hope to see more from for years to come! "GOD BLESS RAMONES STYLE PUNK!" P.S. If you like these guys I also recommend The Apers

I bought this cd first, and must admit that it is very monotonous which is very unfortunate because there are some very great songs on this cd. my favorites are Mr. so & so, El pamino, the russians are coming and thunderball. but sadly enough these are the only ones i find average - above average. most of the other songs are below the average of what you could expect from the lillingtons. i'll recommend buying the other album, but you just might also find this album okay, i admit that aint great, but i think that it's definatly worth buying!

I don't know what that one guy is talking about. This wasn't recorded by Ben Weasel, but by Mass Giorgini! That said, it's just as great as their first one.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Great Band Goes Lame, December 8, 2001

I bought this after getting so much enjoyment out of their previous "Death By Television." "Backchannel" is so weak it sounds like their mothers wrote it. Totally unispired, even the CD cover is bad.I want my money back. Let's hope they get back to the great work they did on "Death By Television."

2.0 out of 5 stars Is this the new Screeching Weasel CD?, April 10, 2002
By
This review is from: Backchannel Broadcast (Audio CD)
This band was one of the most promising pop-punk bands out there until Ben Weasel got his hands on them and totally [destroyed] their sound. Kody's voice was the highlight of the band and Weasel has brought the Weasel-esque guitar sound to the forefront and the vocals to the background. This RUINED the original unique sound that made the Lillingtons so great. This CD is average at best. The Lillingtons would be better served to go back to Joe Queer as producer.

If you can find "Idiot Word Search" (a split with Nothing Cool), **** Out Of Luck, or any of their 7", BUY THEM INSTEAD!
