We were wondering if the book could be worth it but we thought we'd give it a try. WOW! This book has everything, I mean EVERYTHING you could want to know as you explore the state (directions, lots of photos, interesting history, info about animals and plants w/pics, rating systems, and GPS coordinates)!!
Love this book. I hope that I can collect the rest of the titles about the other states. My book was fun to take along on the vacation drive but I could see just sitting and reading through it at home!

I bought this book thinking that the inside would be black and white text explanations saying turn left here, go right there. How shocked I was to find out that the whole text is full of glossy pages in full color. This book has it all...history, GPS coordinates, turn-by-turn instructions for the trails, a nature guide, even cross references with other books and software!

This book has become a permanent fixture in my SUV! There is nothing else out there than even compares!

WOW this was really helpful for giving us something fun to do with the new Jeep Rubicon. Ratings are a great guide. Mostly the trails are pretty sedate - but there are are quite a few hard ones listed to keep the rest of us happy. The history of the area is also interesting. The GPS coordinates are a huge bonus, better than wandering around wondering if you are allowed to be on this trail or not. Definately recommend - it worth the money in savings on wasted fuel - and driver/navigator harmony ;-)

This book is has taken us to places we had never thought about before. It Allows you to determine the difficulty of the path that you want to go for and will guide you accuratley throughout your journey. Whether you are into the adventurous mood or into just checking out fantastic scenery, all you need is there; this book does cover it all.

This is the top dog for off road books. I've driven several of these courses in my stock Chevrolet truck with zero problems. Beautiful lay-out, great descriptions and GPS coordinates. Get this book!

I have read several other map books for off road trails, etc. and this one is by far the most comprehensive and accurate. My wife and I have used this book on a couple of trips now and the accuracy of the directions is uncanny. I also apprciate the GPS coordinates and the maps in the book itself. The fact that this book is all color is awesome too. I would definitely buy this book if you're in the market.

This is the most thorough resource for off road travel I have seen. I found some beautiful and fun roads near my home town that I was completely unaware of. This book is perfect for those who have stock vehicles and want to enjoy the backroads. You will know in advance whether your vehicle can handle the route without getting damaged or stuck. (Yes, there are also some more difficult roads in the book for those who are equipped and need a challenge.)
The maps are easy to use and sufficiently detailed to find your way in the most confusing dirt road mazes of the Sierras. In addition to the specific descriptions for each road, the historical, geological and other information is great. If your passenger gets bored, just give them this book and there is plenty to read.
