I ordered this book because I am a HUGE fan of the "Backdraft" movie. In fact, I think it is William Baldwin's best film and Kurt Russell is good in it too. I have seen the movie over 30 times.

So you can imagine how excited I was to see that they came out with a book based on the movie. I ordered it right away, without even reading the description.

Well, I should have read the description. The first "red flag" was that when I flipped through the pages, there was no picture section with photos of William Baldwin and all of the fires. Also, I didn't recognize the guy on the cover from the movie.

I started reading anyway, and I couldn't believe this "adaptation" of the movie. The characters were taking all their clothes off (not safe in a fire situation, by the way) and doing dirty things I could not believe. I only got 15 pages into it before I had to put it down.

I was reading this book on the bus, so I showed the book to the guy next to me and winked to let him know that it is more of a "joke" book than a real adaptation of the movie. He winked back at me and smiled knowingly, so I guess he must have tried reading the book too. Us "Backdraft" fans really have to stick together!

It was not until later, after I invited him to watch the original "Backdraft" on tape at my apartment, that I found out he was a bigger fan of the book than the movie! What an "awkward" situation. But I had to be polite, so I took my shirt off and danced for my guest until he was ready to leave.

I got a whole lot less, and also a lot more, than I bargained for by getting this book. However, I can't recommend it for fans of the William Baldwin classic movie "Backdraft". This one is a whole different story.

Like one of the other reviewers, the stories in this book just didn't do it for me. I think the writers attempted to provide some quality creative writing, but 90% of the stories were boring to me.

This book is not exciting. The writing is ok at time but not many of the stories are actually erotic to me. The variety of approaches is nice but it's not exactly one handed reading.

This was a pretty good book and a good value for what I paid for it. Some stories are better than others, but that's what happens when its a compilation of stories. Some of the better stories are the ones that don't go right into the sex. They are more emotional and have a back story. The others just go right to the good stuff and that's not always the most erotic.

I loved the short stories in this book and will, be looking for more of this autors books again.

If you get into short stories of gay men then this is a book I recommend to read...
