This book really helped me improve my skills. There are two really good sections on Doubling. A nice chapter on the back game. Other topics are duplication, flexibility, priming, slotting. This book helps me win more games!

I was expecting a little more than I got. The book is not reader friendly. A little more wordy than I thought.

If you play online as I do you should read this book.
I've been playing online at http://www.play65.com/index.html?did=13610 and increased my ratings from 1400 to 1700. the section about the doubling theory was the most importan one for me.

This is really a very useful book for beginners and intermediate players.
The only thing that hurts a bit is the steep price ! Another very good book for starters (but also advanced players) is Paul Lamfords "starting out in backgammon", which is moch cheaper ! |
