I took Professor Henriques' introductory psychology course at the University of Wisconsin-Madison which utilized this book as a supplement to the primary textbook. While the primary textbook offered the psychological theories as it should, the course would not have been complete without Background Readings for Introductory Psychology. This book is a composition of actual pyschology research essays, thought-provoking opinions on psychological thought, and hands-on experiments which offer insight into the realm of psychology. The book offers students a broader perspective of psychology. Actual psychological research essays give students an idea of what the field is all about. I would highly recommend this book to professors and students and to include this in their psychology learning experience.
