The backnobber is a great product. I am a physical therapist and recommend these to patients all the time. Especially following car accidents, or patients with sustained repetitive position and task jobs. The free gift is worth about $1, it is pointed on the tip - not very comfortable. But you're not buying the free gift, so who cares, I guess it works about as well as a tennis ball anyway.

I've had a Backnobber II for many years now. It's easy to use, so you will tend to use it. I probably have fibromyalgia in that everthing hurts, but it's concentrated in the upper back and sides, shoulders, neck, and arms. It takes only a few minutes to dissolve those painful knots. The pain stays away for an extended period of time. The Backnobber is a small miracle. It comes with a very good manual, which is also available online.

The Thera Cane is an interesting alternative that I may try someday, but it looks somewhat complicated. Here's what the webpage for Clair Davies' THE TRIGGER POINT THERAPY WORKBOOK says:

"The Backnobber isn't quite as versatile as the Thera Cane but many people prefer it because the knobs are smoother and of different sizes. The smaller knob is especially effective for the back of the neck and the top of the shoulders. The Backnobber's great advantage is that it comes apart in the middle to fit handily into a carry-on suitcase."

This has really helped my back. I have the larger "S" curve at home next to my computer and the smaller at the office. Being on the computer all the time results in a constant low-level back pain. With the Backnobber, I can reach the exact muscle that is tight and apply pressure unti it relaxes.

This is a Must have on long trips....it gets right in those knots!!! This one lasted me about three years and then finally broke, but I used it all the time. Its nice you get a mini one with your buy.

I already bought my original Backnobber II at local store (for $45). It was recommended by my physical therapist and it helped me to relieve the pain around my shoulder blade, which was very difficult to reach for me.

I bought this one for my Aunt for her lower back problem. She is also very pleased with the product. It includes user manual, mini tool, and original Backnobber II as described with much less price I paid.

This backnobber 2 is a great tool to work out those trigger points one tends to get over the years. I love this thing . It has done wonders for me. Pain is down about 90%. As long as I use it daily, the pain/muscle tightness is kept at bay. I'm buying another today for my girlfriend.

My family loves the backnobber 2 and the smaller one. It's so much better to not have to ask someone to massage your back for you!

I really love the fact that I can quickly work out my knotted muscles with this tool, and as a massage therapist, I work on everyone else, so I need to be able to have some time for self-care, and this product allows for that.
