STYLE/CONSTRUCTION: I've had this for a few weeks now, and it's been great. The canvas material is durable and has the vintage, adventurous look I was going for. The side that rests against your back is also padded, so you won't be getting poked by the things inside.

STRAPS: The shoulder straps are easily adjustable and VERY comfy. The padding is effective but subtle, so it doesn't ruin the look. The buckled straps are of obviously faux leather, which is too bad, but the price is right! The snaps are actually magnetic, which makes them a little faster to open and close, which is great, and they won't wear down or fit poorly. And the two brass studs you see on the main and back pouches in the picture correspond to two different magnetic contacts, so you can close it tighter if need be, and vice versa. The straps themselves are also adjustable via buckle, although I find this superfluous.

POUCHES: Awesome. The main pouch is a very spacious rectangular prism in construction; not ovoid or sacklike, like many other backpacks. This means it's perfect for books, briefcases, laptops, etc. in addition to whatever else you'd normally put inside. And did I say spacious? It looks and sits like a standard backpack, but feels much roomier.

The main pouch also has velcro clasps in addition to the magnets, if you're in a rush, for easy open/close. Inside, there's a small zip pouch, perfect for small things you don't have room for in your pockets but want to keep in one place instead of flying around inside the backpack. This is also a good spot to put small valuables, like a phone or keys.

ALL flaps surround the pouch opening rather than just flopping over it -- I love this. It means stuff is pretty secure in there even if you didn't use any clasps.

Okay, so after waiting about a week for it to finally come, I got it with no problems. And to tell you the truth, it looks better than the photo. So I put everything in it for school, and tried it on. I didn't know it was padded! It shapes to your pack and sholders like Dr. Shoels shoe grips! I love it. It has plenty of pockets to hold all your things in it. (And the first pocket is really deep so it's really nice for big binders amd cases.)I think that the only flaw would have to be the magnetic strips. I'm only worried that it might fall off. But so far, everything has gone anything but wrong. Best backpack/hiking bag ever!

The straps are attached magnetically and two of them weren't attached when I received the package. I called them 3 times to get correct service seeking only a shipment of these straps. They made a shipment but only one strap was in the packaged and it didn't even belong to the same backpack. Save yourself the trouble - do not order from this company.

For the size it is, this backpack is just really roomy. I bought it for paintballing. It fits so much stuff in it. I can store water, barrels, paint, pods, more water, little snacks, little radios and batteries. It fits EVERYTHING you would need if you want paintballing...

For hiking, I would say this thing could probably hold a decent amount of water, food, aid, bug spray and other camping essentials. The shoulder straps are padded and comfortable so your shoulders won't feel the burn too much. Just a great bag for bringing along with you everywhere... Oh, and it looks cool too.

It's holding up okay, some of the magnetic rivets are starting to fray around the edges and pulling off *just* a tad. This bag can hold up to maybe 10-15 lbs. of school supplies AT MOST. (The limit for me is 2 9x12" notebooks, a 9x12x4" book and a 7x9x2" book plus a 10" screen tablet.) Anything over that is either too tight to get in/out of the bag or is too much for the straps. If you overload the bag those straps start slipping from their position and it's hard to keep the bag stable.

Seems like a good day-trip bag, but I don't think I would advise to use this for heavy scholastic applications.

I ordered this bag thinking my teenage son could use it for school but it is too flimsy to hold textbooks and it is not nearly as roomy as the standard Janzen bookbags that kids usually carry. I now use the bag as an everyday bag as opposed to carrying a purse. The stitching is light and single thread so it won't be long before it comes apart if used for anything really heavy over a short period of time. The straps on front are not real leather and actually look quite cheap up close. Also, the shoulder straps only have metal rings to secure them so they come loose quite frequently. I've tied them but that only prolongs the problem for a few weeks.

The canvas is a fairly good quality, the color is a bit darker and greener than the picture, but still looks good. The straps and fasteners also seem to be good quality. The interior is lined with a silky feeling plastic, but it seems to be fairly tough. Time will tell I guess.

The main pouch has a zipper, but there are fairly large gaps on each side, so don't keep small loose items in the big pouch. It is big enough for books or a decent sized laptop. There is a small zippered pouch inside the main pouch, I have yet to figure out what I'm going to use it for, maybe my wallet, if it'll fit, my smartphone possible, change certainly. There are other pockets inside, some look to be for credit cards while one seems to be for a cell phone, but is kind of small for today's wide but narrow smartphones.

There is another pocket outside large enough for a tablet, electronic or paper. There is no zipper on this one, just a flap that velcros and has snaps as well. There is also a small zippered pocket near the bottom which might be good for pens and the like. There are pockets on the side with flaps that snap shut, but no velcro this time. Unfortunately they are too small to fit a water bottle, maybe a small one would fit. Finally there are straps on the back, so it can be worn as a backpack.
