5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic guide (1st edition)
Fantastic and inspirational backpacking guide to the best of Washington state. I've followed in the authors footsteps on several of these trips and have not been disappointed. Filled with great descriptions, tips and an engaging writing style, makes you want to get out there!

3.0 out of 5 stars fairly hardcore
Pros: Detailed descriptions. Mouth watering trips.
Cons: Very few weekend routes. Not really a fault, but I thought I'd mention it, as it made the book far less useful to me than I thought.

I have about 10 or so different trail guide books for Washington and Idaho, and I have to say that the Backpacking series by Douglas Lorraine is by far the best. His maps, and descriptions are second-to-none, and his descriptions are laced with tips on how to make the absolute most of every trip. I love this book.
