Format: Hardcover
This exquisite book is a fitting tribute to the great John Galliano. Lowit's photos are every bit as eccentric and original as the designs they capture. Whether backstage, on the runway or in fittings, she seems to wrest passion from every square inch of each image. If you're a longtime fan of Dior and Galliano or new to the party, this is a special book that you shouldn't miss. It is a visual riot, capturing the irreverent, unmistakable creative spirit that IS Dior.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Amy Edelman on January 14, 2012
Format: Hardcover
Veteran New York photographer Roxanne Lowit has chronicled John Galliano's Dior fashion shows for over a decade.

With a rough-hewn, up-close approach, she delves into the fascinating details behind the scenes. Her collection of snapshot style photographs convey the buzz of fashion's consistently most inspiring spectacle. A bold mixture of color and black-and-white, these images are by turns whimsical and awe-inspiring. As much a star as the celebrities she profiles, Lowit brings an insider perspective to this world of high glamour.

This is a great coffee table book. The pictures are clear and vivid. However, I wish it showcased the shoes, bags, and clothes more. There were some shots of the makeup, which was very cool, but other than that, it was just a bunch of candid pictures that didn't really show off Dior. I would ask for it as a gift, not buy it for myself.

John Galiano is a genious. His creations have become consubstantial to Dior and it will be rather difficult for this Maison de Haute Coûture to find another couturier that could replace him. This book is a masterpiece that shows the art of Galiano through an impeccable photography and right texts.
