5.0 out of 5 stars This video shows their TRUE vocal talents!!!
I bought this video expecting a lot of dancing and ya know the usual. But as soon as Kevin and Howie explained that the show was totally acoustic, my ears perked up. When they sang the very first song "Who Do You Love?" I started to cry. For the very first time, I heard the Backstreet Boys liked I'd never heard them before. This video is a must have for ALL...

3.0 out of 5 stars I love the BSB, but . . .
this video wasn't that great. They didn't dance at all, or even sing any fast songs. The BSB is my favorite group, but even I got bored with this video. The farther into the video I got, the harder it was to pay attention. The only things I liked were Brian's solo ( he has got the GREATEST voice) and the two music videos at the end. If you want a really good video of...

This video is a must have for ALL BSB fans.. You get to hear them sing like they've never sang before. It gives each of them a chance to shine as they all sing a solo. Kevin, however, decided to play a piano piece that he wrote 3 years ago. If you're a big BSB fan like me, get a box of tissue. You'll see by the end of the video what a talented bunch of guys they are.

P.S)They have an All I Have to Give video at the end that wasn't released in the U.S. It has an awesome water scene, and different shots of the guys, plus and extra dance scene.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!!, August 23, 1999
By A Customer
This video is one of the best Backstreet videos yet!! If you're looking for great harmony, awesome solo performances, and actually HEARING the Backstreet sing LIVE in concert, this is the video for you! Howie pays a good rendition of "My heart stays with you"; AJ is just very sensual in "Lay down beside me"; Nick beautifully sings "I need you tonight"; Kevin actually plays the piano during a song that he wrote, which was at the time still nameless and later became "Back to your heart"; and Brian introduces us to a brand new and might I add BEAUTIFUL song written by him in the medley "That's what she said/Where can we go?"... and if that's not enough, they sing "Who do you love?", the whole song!! I'm telling you, it's a must!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars TALENT & LOOKS--ALL ROLLED INTO ONE GROUP!, November 15, 1999
I'm not ashamed to say it: I'm in my thirties and I LOVE THE BACKSTREET BOYS' music! Thisvideo exposes the talent that their non-fans sometimes feel they just don't possess because they're such good looking guys. But these five young guys prove you CAN have looks, brains and talent, not to mention be gracious to fans and respectful of lyrics and not sending wrong messages in their songs. They have a great sound, very easy to listen to, and this Night Out video will convince you to head to your music shop and pick up all their stuff, even the imports that are hard to find (BUT AMAZON HAS 'EM! )

5.0 out of 5 stars minus the corny dance moves, June 4, 2005
This review is from: Backstreet Boys - A Night Out with the Backstreet Boys (DVD)
I chose to get one BSB video, and I'm glad I chose this one. This collection features harmony-based pop/r&b sounds from early backstreet. It has a few songs from their European debut album, and that was a good thing for me because I love hearing songs that I'm not already familiar with. The best one was the opener, "Who do you Love". Besides that, you also get their early slow and midtempo songs, plus solos. Brian blew me away with his angelic voice and his 2nd solo song. He definitely has the r&b thing going on, sounds like Brian McKnight. Nick's solo is a keeper, too. And Kevin on piano duet with the saxophone--the true "romantic moment".
Very good release that puts the VOCALS above anything else.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Backstreet Boys - A Night Out with the Backstreet Boys (DVD)
This is a Backstreet Boys concert the way you dreamed it could be, without the audience or music drowning out those magnificant voices. If you can only have one video, choose this one.

Well I have the VHS edition and I say this concert is great.
The only thing is I'm more of a funk man and I prefer Homecoming
Live in Orlando.

A Night Out with the Backstreet Boys was a romantic dvd. Each of the five guys gets their own solo turns. It also includes songs that are never heard by any bsb fans. It's definitely a great dvd. A must-buy for every bsb lover! Go grab one for yourself if you haven't yet!!

5.0 out of 5 stars BSB the Natural Way, June 15, 2001
This review is from: Backstreet Boys - A Night Out with the Backstreet Boys (DVD)
The boys put on one heck of a show with nothing but themselves and accoustical instruments. There are no fancy dance routines, no massive audiences. Instead, what you are treated to is an intimate concert experience. Each boy does a solo number for the small house audience they are preforming to.

A must for all BSB fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars This video shows the Backstreet Boys true talent., December 27, 1998
By A Customer
This video is really a unplugged concert. Kevin and Howie are the hosts. They tell you about different parts of the show. Depending on where you live some of the songs are new to you,but yet the Backstreet Boys(BSB) still sing songs you know. Each member of BSB has a solo. Kevin plays a song he wrote but hasn't found any lyric he is happy with yet. Nick sings "I Need You Tonight." Howie solo is "My Heart Stays With You." Next is Brian he sings "That's What She Said/Where Do We Go From Here?"Then A.J. sings "Lay Down Beside Me." So, if you like beautiful ballands you should get this video.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Revelations!, December 12, 1998
By
Debbie Carlson (Enchanted Island, MN) - See all my reviews
First, I am not a 13 year old girl. I'm a grown up but I guess the BSB are too. My daughter got this video and I watched it with her. Now, I've always been a fan and have been to one of their concerts. This, however, showed a different side to their talent. We all knew that Brian could sing like an angel and with great emotion and could write, that Nick and Howie were singers with great technique and a wide range of emotions. A.J. has always been a fablous singer but, the way he sang his solo!!!!!! who knew he could sing like that!!!! It was a revelation!!! You did a great job A.J. I can't wait to hear more. Then there's Kevin. I was happy to hear that he would be doing a solo as at the concert I attended, they cut that part out of the show. And I was so looking forward to actually hearing Kevin's voice for more than a line or two in a song. Even though he doesn't sing on his solo it showed a whole other side of Kevin that hasn't had a lot of exposure. His song was a marvel and the intensity and look of bliss on his face while he played was the second revelation on this video. Kevin, you must get some lyrics for this song! I can't wait to hear it when it's all finished, although it was beautiful with out lyrics too. Keep up the good work, guys!!!
