About the Author

Mody C. Boatright (1896–1970) served as Secretary-Editor of the Texas Folklore Society for twenty years. He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas, where he taught for four decades. His contributions to folklore study and the Texas Folklore Society are innumerable.



Donald Day (1899–1991) received his master's from the University of Texas at Austin and his Ph.D. in English from the University of Chicago in 1940. He edited the Southwest Review and was a staff writer and roving editor for Readers Digest.
