This is a wonderful book with beautiful photos and great ideas. It is not a how to book, but it does inspire!

I haven't finished reading it yet but so far love it. It has many photos along with a paragraph about why/how this works - the type of landscape and things to make sure you do/don't do. I am buying a copy for my sister for xmas.

I have recently become a big fan of the "Idea Book" series from Taunton. This one is no exception with plenty of ideas that cover every gamut of the back yard. Although this book is pushing 5 years old, luckily this subject matter is less susceptible to trends and fads, so the images and ideas are timeless.

I recommend this to anyone that is looking for some ideas, whether it's sprucing up a zone, or small area, to the entire backyard. Only complaint is that there are a few over the top, million dollar mansion photos that just don't seem to fit with the subject. When you start measuring your backyard in acres...well then that's just a different story.

The book clearly states that it is a 'Backyard Idea' book, not a how to or a design book. So for the 2 star review before, it is just plain silly. However, this is a great book if you like to sit back and dream ideas for your backyard. It has some ideas that may be out of reach financially for some, but it also has some budget tight ideas as well. And you can create a combo of both if you'd like! I love designing my own backyard landscapes and this book certainly adds to even more ideas. Recommended for those who sit in their yards dreaming what they can do to make them fun and relaxing.

I'm satisfied. More than enough pictures with detailed analysis for each. There is nothing missing.

This has been a wonderful book that I have enjoyed savoring. There are diagrams to be used as tools that are impressive, all surrounded by fabulous pictures of realistic projects. Laypeople as well as professional builders can all benefit from the beauty of this book.

Lee Ann White takes the 'chore' out of creating an inviting backyard, with this beautiful book filled with great pictures and easy-to-understand instructions. A must-have for creative gardeners and crafters.

I think this book is very insirational and has very good information:) the only reason why I gave it four instead of five stars was because I thought they could have used more up to date photos.

I've already bookmarked many pages for ideas that I'm going to incorporate into my backyard next year.

This book has excellent photo's of backyard ideas. It is a great book if you are just looking for ideas. I had expected a book with a little "how-to" mixed in.
