5.0 out of 5 stars GREATEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!, December 31, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Backyard Skateboarding (CD-ROM)
This game is so awesome I could play it all day if my mom would let me.You can actually play with Andy Macdonald as a kid. Most of the kids(skaters)have very good rankings. Here is how I rate the kids(skaters). Achmed Khan:Not the best Annie Frazier:OK Jocinda Smith: Great Andy Macdonald:The Best Kiesha Philips:Good Reese Worthington:Ok Dmitri Petrovitch:Good Ricky Johnson:Ok Pete Wheeler:Pretty good Dante Robinson:ok In this game you have to to win the ultimate skatepark.Along the way every time you beat a boss challenge that kid joines your skate team. There are three levels with boss's that you can have join your team. There are 4 levels total.Another good thing about this game is that the controls are easy to memorize.I would not get this game for a child that is under the age of 7.This is a game that I would defineately recommend. P.S.Pushing the arrow keys and the stunt buttons allows you to do incredible stunts.

My kids played this game at our local library and then I bought it here. They love it. They love getting to the next level and finding all the jobs as well as learning the new tricks on the skateboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars All-Around Awesome, August 24, 2010
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Backyard Skateboarding (CD-ROM)
My sister and I own this game, along with a few other "Backyard" games and it's one of the best we have. It begins with a little video about how these kids have a terrible neighborhood skatepark and they want to get a new one. So then they hear about this skate tour where they help people out and complete challenges to earn the ultimate skatepark. When you start a new game, you put in your name and then pick a skater from your team that you can control with your keyboard to start skating. We always use the customized skaters, because you can basically make them look like anything you want, name them, and even pick a theme song.

The first time you play this game, when you start skating, it will be a pleasant shock. The first stop on the tour, the Neighborhood, is a huge virtual world where you can skate around. You see the skater you chose, in front of the screen, doing all the commands you type on the keyboard. The kids you need to help while you skate are standing around with beacons above their heads, so you can easily see where to go next. The challenges are mostly try, fail, try, fail, try, fail, and finally, "Yes! I got it!" You can skate away from the challenges at any time and try out another one. When you aren't working on the tour, it's fun to just skate around. There are lots of neat things you can do, including trying to jump over the lake, exploring the "haunted" house, and going in your neighbors' backyards. The other three tour places are pretty much the same, but in more elaborate settings. There's the Boardwalk, a beach vacation spot with an awesome theme park you can unlock. The Castle is, well, a medieval castle, that includes a dungeon with a mythical monster underneath. The Ultimate Skate Park is just an ultimate skate park built to look like a space station (Skate Station Alpha).

Now, the quality of the game is amazing. From having this game for years, my sister and I have discovered a few...glitches? Roughly-animated cheats? We can't tell which. But those are made up for by the fascinating animated world the makers of the game have created. There are also tokens you can collect in all different tour stops, that unlock bonus accessories for your skater, cheats you can discover, and records you can break. You have to play it to believe it; this game will keep you interested, like us, for years.

My grand son is a special needs child but he learned how to run the game and he played it by himself. The service was great and so fast. I had my delivery in 2 days. Thanks again. I was a bit hesitant about ordering over the computer but it was so easy with Amazon.
