4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first two CDs, but well worth the price.
The release of any Backyardigans CD is a joyous event in my house. And finally, finally we get some songs from the Race Around The World episode. 3.0 out of 5 stars CD media information
CD Media information should have been included by the developer. I enjoy adding CDs to my windows media player but when a CD doesn't have the information it is just logged in as unknown, making it difficult to find later and tedius to enter on my own.

The release of any Backyardigans CD is a joyous event in my house. And finally, finally we get some songs from the Race Around The World episode. Unfortunately we don't get the extended version of Go Go Go, but at least a couple of songs that were notably absent from the first two CDs are included here. But there are still some songs excluded from this offering that would've improved it greatly. Huka Pele from The Legend of the Volcano Sisters, Steer Baby Steer from Cops and Robots, and Astronauts Never Give Up from Mission to Mars. Granted, this is my personal opinion, but it is a shame that these three songs are unavailable on CD. Instead this CD gives us a glut of songs from The Tale of the Mighty Knights, which are good, but are still inferior to the three songs mentioned above. Hopefully that will be corrected on a future release. And hopefully they won't take so long to get around to the next CD. My kids are almost 5 and 2 years old, It won't be all that long before they have outgrown the Backyardigans and I'll be forced to buy subsequent CDs strictly for myself.

So 4 out of 5 stars from me. A better song selection and this would've been another 5-star selection.

4.0 out of 5 stars My kid loves the CD but the packaging is another thing, February 5, 2008

My daughter's seen most of these episodes and loves to dance to the music. Very entertaining for her and that's why I buy these things. If your child likes the show, they will also like the CD. Great for bopping around and singing.

My one gripe is the packaging. It was not a plastic jewel case. It was a triple folded cardboard sleeve with one side where the CD slides into it and the other holds a poster. Not very convenient access from my point of view. The glue always gives out on these things and then the CD slides out the end.

My feelings about the case are also moot at this point. My daughter shredded it trying to get the CD and poster out which is the only reason I gave it 4 of 5 stars. So, while I now know better than to let her get ahold of one of these paper CD cases in the future, I no longer have an "original" case for the CD. Pretty good thing I have lots of empty jewel cases sitting around.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best but still wonderful, January 25, 2008

Moment of truth: my four-year-old is not the only member of the family who eagerly awaited the arrival of the third Backyardigans CD.

That said, I don't find it quite as catchy as the two previous CDs. It may be that I found the other musical styles more engaging but the fact of the matter is that I thought the other two discs had more clever songs than this one. That's not to say that this is a bad CD--far from it. My favorites would be the zydeco-inspired "Go, Go, Go!" and the catchy sort of do-wop sounding "W-I-O-Wa". I also like the music from "Tale of the Mighty Knights". However you slice it, though, this is fine entertainment for both children and adults.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop with the comparisons- this cd rocks!, January 23, 2010
This review is from: The Backyardigans: Born to Play (Audio CD)
My taste in music is everywhere. People tend to ask what's wrong with me when they see me go through everything on iTunes. Tom Waits, Rihanna, Motorhead, Pharoahe Monch, Willie Nelson, the Donkey Kong Country soundtrack, Aphex Twin...I just plain love good music. And when my daughter first started to watch the Backyardigans when she was a few months old, I got hooked. The songs and music on the show surpass that of any other show, for kids or adults. You name an episode, I can dish out the lyrics and some of the dance moves too. So when this album came out, it was an immediate buy.

You can see the track list on the page here, so there's no use in going over the tracks themselves. As you can see, they cover a ton of episodes from ones before the season with the Mighty Knights and Super Secret Super Spy, and that same season. I was especially grateful for Nobody's Bigger Than a Giant, though I wish the last song from that episode was on here too, it looks like there's a song from each episode with the exception of those from the Mighty Knights. The last couple of songs are from that episode/movie. The quality on the audio's great and the vocals are never too loud or overshadowed by the music. Perfect music for your child's birthday party or just when they want some music playing! Then again, I tend to listen to the songs when I'm doing whatever on the computer too, so if you're a fan and have kids, it's a win-win situation.

A lot of people seem to be concerned with how good this cd is compared to the previous Backyardigans album. Why? The first was a mix of tons of songs from different episodes, and this is no different. While my one gripe is that a few songs I love aren't on here, and there was definitely room for them (this album runs at just under 40 minutes) there's always next time, right? This is still a great album, and you even get a bonus mini-poster with it.

Bought it for my 4 year old and she LOVES it! She was thrilled with the extra tracks from the Knights special. I have to admit that I've played it when she's not in the car with me too. So upbeat and fun. If you have a Backyardigans fan in the house they will love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, June 13, 2010
This review is from: The Backyardigans: Born to Play (Audio CD)
Our family LOVES the backyardigans. Our 2 and 5 year old always agree on watching them (which they don't agree often) and both enjoy it a lot. So when we saw this CD we knew we had to get it. The songs are catchy and lots of fun. This in one CD my husband and I don't mind listening to on family road trips! :o)

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what the toddler ordered!, September 21, 2009
My 2 year old is obsessed with the Backyardigans! She loves the music so much and when I caught the advertisement for this cd on television I knew she would love it! Well, she does, Its in my car all the time and is the only thing that makes our regular long drives tolerable. She sings along while dancing in her car seat. Lady in Pink is her favorite by far.

I too wish there were some other volcano sisters songs on the disk, that is her favorite episode.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, July 2, 2009
This review is from: The Backyardigans: Born to Play (Audio CD)
I purchased this CD for my daughter, we don't have the other 2 CDs yet. We really enjoy listening to it in the car. I have to admit that sometimes I even listen to it when my daughter isn't in the car. It is really upbeat and puts both of us in a good mood. Also, someone said that the voices weren't the same as the Backyardigans show, but I think they are. The Backyardigans show uses different voices for when the character talks and when the character sings, so of course the majority of the CD is the singing voices. I highly recommend the CD

My daughter loves to watch the Backyardigans on Treehouse and I do as well. I find the songs very catchy and the characters are way too cute. We listen to this CD in the vehicle and I am singing just as much as she is and find that the songs are caught in my head for quite a while! Defintely a great buy along with the other Backyardigans CD's...of which I bought all three!!!
