Backyardigans: Christmas With the Backyardigans

My children love the Backyardigans, and so do I! Each show is full of singing, problem solving and friendship, wonderful for preschoolers. This set has the following four episodes (the first one is the only Christmas episode):

*The Action Elves Save Christmas Eve - Abominable Snowmen Tyrone and Austin accidentally take Santa's magic sack. Now the action elves (Uniqua, Pablo and Tasha) must use their talents to bring the sack back to Santa and save Christmas.
*Pablor and the Acorns - Acorn scouts Tasha, Tyrone and Austin are in a space race for the Crystal of Power vs. the evil space-dictators Pablor and Uniquor!
*The Big Dipper Diner - Space police Tyrone and Tasha mistake Uniqua and Pablo's sweetest customer as a dangerous space alien known as the Blarg.
*The Amazing Splashinis - Uniqua, Tyrone and Pablo, diving experts, are practicing their newest, highest, most riskiest dive at the Splashini Water Park when a sea monster interupts their practice. While he's great fun to play with, they need to get down to business!

Each of the four episodes is what you come to expect from the Backyardigans - just plain cute!

This DVD includes a few new episodes:

Pablor and the Acorns--a really cute episode. This is one that appeals to my husband and I (as well as our kids) for its cleverness and message.

The Big Dipper Diner--not one of my favorite episodes but my kids love it.

As of mid-March 2011, neither of these have been shown on television and both are solid to good episodes.

The other two on the DVD I have mixed feelings about--I don't love watching holiday themed shows during the summer but its a cute episode (guest staring Conan O'Brian). The Amazing Splashinis is my daughters favorite episode so I have seen it countless times.

My children (age 2 & 4) will be so thrilled to get this new video. They have nearly all the Backyardigans videos, and take turns choosing which episode (on DVD or the one that Nick Jr. shows on a given night) they get to watch each night before bedtime. Ever since seeing Splashinis on television a number of times, they have asked for it. They'll be so excited to finally get to see it again, as Nick Jr. hasn't shown it in some time. They also have enjoyed "Action Elves . . . ," but Splashinis was a much bigger hit. Can't wait to see the other two episodes on this video. Backyardigans are the best!

My granddaughter is in love with Backyardigans so this definitely was a hit with her. I got this as a Christmas gift for her and she wanted to watch it right there and then.
Great DVD to entertain children and they are learning without even knowing it.

This is another wonderful Backyardigans Video. It has 4 shows. My 20 month old LOVES the Backyardigans he has been watching them since he was born. This video has 2 new shows he had never seen and that was wonderful. Plus it had the Amazing Splashinis.

Another great Backyardigans dvd. My kids are getting older and they still like to watch them.
Just not as often as they use to. But I still like to watch them with them too!

I bought this item without reading the back of the DVD Case. I thought I was buying a Backyardigan's Christmas Movie, but it is really just 3 Backyardigan shows(that have played on Nick Jr.) that we've already seen. My 3 yr old wasn't impressed.
