This is a great idea for a product! I am a huge lover of bacon, but they really didn't get the taste or smell right. It smells like dog food, and tastes like chemicals.

these never made it into my mouth because the smell made me sick. I had to throw them away and I love bacon.

This was a great gag gift for my younger brother. The problem is actually trying to use it. He opened up the packaging, and the whole area smelled like imitation bacon bits. If the toothpicks even tasted like the smell, it wouldn't be too bad of a flavor. But they taste like an imitation of imitation bacon bits. Nasty taste. But it got a lot of laughs, and the packaging was very sterile. The toothpicks were plastic-wrapped in a big bag inside the tin. The tin is nice if you want to keep it after the toothpicks are gone (or "accidentally" thrown away).

i actually really liked the taste even though it doesn't taste like real bacon. it sorta tastes like wood soaked in turkey grease but somehow i really like it. i like to chew on these when i'm writing a paper or something.

These toothpicks do not replace real bacon flavor. They don't exactly smell like bacon, and the taste has mild bacony flavor. They smell strong coming out of the box, but after exposure to air, the smell dissipates which is good. They don't smell bad, just not much like bacon - more like cooked pork.
Either way, as flavored toothpicks, how can you go wrong with bacon flavor? These satisfy any bacon-lover's appetite - especially if you chew toothpicks anyway. I wouldn't be using these with food as the bacon flavor definitely doesn't go well with foods. Enjoy the bacon flavor - even if it's not real bacon.

My Bad! What was I thinking? Bacon Flavoring on toothpicks? I was going to give these as a gift but they are gross. Also I thought that this tiny little box of toothpicks was very expensive to handle and ship - like eight plus on the buckometer. Like when you you burn your finger on the stove - I won't make that mistake again.

I got these as a gag gift for my husband since he is a bacon lover. They really do smell like bacon. He said they do taste like bacon and he likes to chew on them. A good tool to reduce/quit smoking.

These toothpicks were a gift for someone who does A LOT of BBQ'ing and I didn't buy them as actual toothpicks. I bought them label as a gag gift, and they are just that, a gag. You get a slight hint of chemical and bacon flavor when you open the tin. There is a slight white residue on these picks and it does not taste like bacon. Overall, I would not buy these toothpicks again, even for a gag. The one reason I gave this item 3 stars is because the toothpicks come in that tin that is a unique little bacon collection piece.

It tastes like burnt wood and smells like burnt wood. I think the person who makes this thought of a smoked ham and then went out and smoked a bunch of tooth picks. These things are not bacon flavored unless that bacon in a fire.
