4.0 out of 5 stars Baconnaise
Who would have thought? This is great stuff! Vegetarian mayo that tastes like bacon. It works well on burgers, sandwiches, in salads (egg salad, etc), or just by itself as a dip. My only complaints are the jar is small at 12 ounces, and even though the sodium content is relatively low, it tastes on the saltier side. I actually take the Baconnaise and mix it with regular...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's worth a try
You have to appreciate the uniqueness of this product. For people bored with condiment options for sandwiches and other dishes, then this product is for you. It is a bit salty for those that normally don't salt their foods, so beware. On warm foods like chicken patties, the sauce does become drippy (although I found it to taste best on chicken). Give it a try and have fun...

My only complaints are the jar is small at 12 ounces, and even though the sodium content is relatively low, it tastes on the saltier side. I actually take the Baconnaise and mix it with regular mayo. This cuts back on the saltiness, and makes the smaller jar last longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baconnaise tastes just like bacon and mayonnaise!, February 4, 2009

Absolutely delicious. My only quibble is that it's a little saltier than I'd prefer so I use sparingly. A little goes a long way. It has no pork in it, which is great for vegetarians. Check out the blog on their website, it's got a lot of tasty uses and recipes. It doesn't seem to be widely available in stores so Amazon's 3 bottle price with free super saver shipping is a good deal.

When I saw this on Oprah a few weeks ago, I was dying to try it. Gail and Oprah said it made their sandwich taste like a BLT without the bacon. Well, sign me up!!! I found its sister product, Bacon Salt, on sale at Today's Goodie (and Baconnaise was backordered everywhere), so I tried it first. LOVED it on eggs, salads, pizza... everything. That same site put Baconnaise on sale and I couldn't resist scooping up a jar. If you love the TASTE of bacon but hate the THOUGHT of it, this stuff is for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Smokey flavored Mayo, but not bacon flavored. We still love it., March 28, 2009

I am a bacon connoisseur since I was raised on a farm and we made our own. I love all kinds of bacon, and just got diagnosed with high blood pressure so no more real bacon. 4 stars since I love the Smokey flavor this mayo has, but to me there is no bacon flavor to it, only a good Smokey flavor.

4.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Really Taste Like Bacon, But Is A Delicious Treat None-the-less, August 23, 2009

Ordered this after reading a review on the AV Club.

Right off the bat, it doesn't taste like spreadable bacon mixed with mayonnaise. It reminds one of bacon, and goes great with items that you'd pair bacon with, such as burgers, eggs, etc. However, the flavor is much better described as smokey seasoned mayonnaise. It's a little on the salty side, but that didn't bother me or most of my friends.

This is to say that it's delicious, and again works well on just about everything you put it on. It's also vegetarian, and fun at a party or office pot luck. Most of my coworkers were scared of it at first, but enjoyed it after they had a taste.

2.0 out of 5 stars Everything tastes better with REAL bacon on it, July 4, 2009
This review is from: J&D's Baconnaise Bacon Flavored Spread, Regular, 15-Ounce Jars (Pack of 3) (Grocery)
As a true bacon lover I looked forward to this with taste-buds a-tingling only to be disappointed. The bacon flavoring apparently comes from a lab in New Jersey. Has a heavy chemical taste, and especially after-taste. As a party favor or gag gift it's fine, but if you're really looking for something to add pizzazz to your food, just make it yourself or hope some other company comes up with a better tasting version.

2.0 out of 5 stars Tastey but possibly too much of a good thing?, May 25, 2010
This review is from: J&D's Baconnaise Bacon Flavored Spread, Regular, 15-Ounce Jars (Pack of 3) (Grocery)
Oh how I do adore the taste of bacon. One of my favorite indulgences is to actually spread some J&D's Baconnaise Bacon Flavored Spread, Regular, 15-Ounce Jar (Pack of 3) on each slice of my bacon at breakfast. I don't use it every morning as it adds an additional 80 fat-laden calories per slice. Spreading it on your bacon is the meat lovers equivalent of the popular chocolate donut with chocolate icing... crumble some pork rinds over the top and you have the equivalent of chocolate sprinkles.

This review is from: J&D's Baconnaise Bacon Flavored Spread, Regular, 15-Ounce Jars (Pack of 3) (Grocery)
Really unfortunate. This tastes like neither bacon nor mayo. Not good at all. I really wanted to like this, but not for me at all! I am amazed at the positive comments, I just don't know what it tastes like at all. Salty, and creamy - but not like bacon!

I bought this because my son loves Bacon and always asks for "double on the Mayo". He will eat pretty much anything, but this he couldn't stomach. It was so gross! He gave it away, and even his friend who will eat anything can't stand it. Pretty nasty stuff, made from 2 things most people like. Beware before you buy it.
