MC Lyte's first batch of albums up until "Act Like U Know' were very groundbreaking in terms of female-led hip hop. This album saw a bit of a change in her career and it seems like on 'Bad As I Wanna B' she was trying to re-mould herself into the guise of a sultry and slightly mysterious sexy figure. That's just my opinion. But even though she still shows the ability to rock the mic like a vandal, it's the beats which don't quite measure up on this one. They're a bit too refined and polite compared to the earlier albums which are much more raw and untamed. That said it's still a good album and you can probably play this at a bar-B-Q with your friends and occasionally dance, but if you end up burning the sausages then you should stop hosting that kind of social occasion. Fire is dangerous.

"have u ever ever in your long living life seen a woman rock the mic like the one called the LYTE" . . MC LYTE. She's the baddest chick in the game and one of the greatest MC's. Cop Aint no Other, Eyes on This, Act Like You know and lyte as a rock. The Queen of conscious rap is dope. Only Lauryn comes close to her microphone skills.

No one can touch MC Lyte. This CD is a collector and should be in your collection. If you are looking for true HIP-HOP then this is it.

this is my 1st cd by her and already planning to buy all her collection. she's da bomb,she can rap.so far, to me she's the best lady rapper i've heard, not to say dabrat is not good, she is, but lyte is LYTE. buy it and enjoy real rap.

I like this album Good overall, no fillers evry song will make you bob your head its just a little short I love this CD when I was playing it. Go get it

I just have to say I bought this album after listening to one track - "I Can't Make A Mistake" - and expected similar grooves for the rest. It didn't happen. The majority of the songs on this CD are almost too soft to be called rap, and might more readily fall into the category of R+B. Sorry, Lyte, while the skills are there, this album didn't make the cut.
