4.0 out of 5 stars Bad To The Bone is a good read
"Bad to the Bone" is suspenseful. It is a good, exciting book. Sherissa Holland is unaware that she has been put on a list -- not for the best reporter of the year or even for the best dressed female, but shockingly put on a hit list! Her fiance' or ex-fiance' is in stuff up to his head and is about to get Sherissa taken down with him. However, the homicide...

This book was kinda hard to read by the 2nd chapter i couldnt tell if we were in the present or the past ....through out the book at times it would go back and you would get lost ....but on the summary: Sheri is engaged to Jack but she is having second thoughts about the wedding and after being in a close accident she really begins to reevaluate her relationship with him .....especially after finding out from the fine, sexy officer Peter that she may have been the intended target of the accident. After finding out her boyfirend had been involved in some shady dealings she knows then that she made the right decision by calling off the wedding. Jack doenst want to let her go and after his business partner is found dead he starts to see that everything wasnt as it seemed and he is in way over his head unknowingly with the MOB ...he thinks by marrying Sheri that maybe her rich dad will bail him out of his problem...WRONG!! meanwhile Sheri begins to date Peter and is later kidnapped for a rasnom she is later reacaptured and Jack sells his business to pay off his debt and the Mob is eventutally broken down...this book was not really good there wasnt enough story about the blossoming romance and the way the story backtracks may loose you for a while .....

3.0 out of 5 stars Bad To The Bone, October 27, 2009

Unaware, reporter Sherissa Holland was put on a deadly hit list after her fiancé's shady business affair took a nasty turn for the worst. On the first attempt against her life, the hitman accidentally killed a well-known lightweight boxer and left Sherissa as the only key witness to the hit-and-run crime.

Detective Peter Linwood knew that his interest in protecting witness Sherissa Holland was more of a personal nature than a professional one. From the moment he met her during the murder investigation, Peter was determined to get to know Sherissa better. But, the more Peter dug into the hit-and-run case the more it became apparent that Sherissa was the real target. Will Peter be able to solve the case and keep Sherissa out of harm's way before the hired gun succeeds in completing his mission to execute her?

Bad to the Bone left mixed feelings within, mostly because the romantic feacture shared between Peter and Sherissa played second fiddle to the suspenseful side of the story. I was half way through the storyline before the couple even shared a kiss. The genre of this book really should be categorized as a suspense novel instead of a romance one. Excluding my high expectations for a super hot romance affair between the hero and heroine, Bad to the Bone was a spectacular novel. The thrilling suspense kept me hanging on the edge of my seat eager to discover just how everything would unfold.

However, the homicide detective Peter Linwood has caught Sherissa's eye and become enchanted with her. Peter's instincts tells him there is more than what meets the eye when an upcoming boxer dies after being run down in the same area where Sherissa works and jogs.

Sherissa's and Peter's first meeting gets off to a bad start. Sherissa is not at all receptive of Peter. It takes a lot of cunning on Peter's part, but he is determined to do what his gut feeling tells him and that is to protect Sherissa at all costs.

Sherissa's ex is not getting a good deal all the way around. He is rejected by Sherissa, loses his life long dream of owning his own company, as well as a chance at losing his freedom. Oh well, that's what happen when things are so wrong, they go bad to the bone. The good news is that Sherissa's eyes are opened in time and some of the bad turns to good.

I enjoyed this book. It skips around a lot, so if you have a short attention span, you may get lost. For me this was a page turner. I finished the book in three days, because I was so eager to get to the end of the book.
