Be prepared to be sucked in, and tantalizingly coaxed into loving every minute of the time you'll spend living vicariously through Colt and Elise as they explore the sizzlingly sensual bounds of lust, love, and trust, until it ultimately comes down to "Colt's Choice".

Elise Hamilton is a strong-willed, witty, and all too sassy woman who wants a fresh start away from the high society life she wants no part of, and she's determined to make that fresh start in Boone, Texas. Being part owner of the Lonestar Ranch, thanks to her Aunt Marie, will give her the opportunity to live the life she quickly finds to be so perfectly fitting for her. She also finds that Colt knows just which buttons to push to drag the bad girl right out of her, but now she is faced with the challenge of proving to Colt that she is not some princess that will run back to her high-society lifestyle when she grows bored with Colt and the Lonestar Ranch.

Colt Tanner was forced into manhood much too quickly when his mother left, in her destructively selfish wake, her husband and three young boys for high society life, and never looked back. When his father died four short years later, Colt was then thrust into the role of second father to his younger brothers. Needless to say, the wounds of bitterness and mistrust run deep in poor Colt's heart. Amazingly, through all of life's trials, Colt became a strong, independent, lovingly obstinate, sexy cowboy who knows how to get what he wants, when he wants it... and he's never wanted a woman more than he wants Elise.

Colt's libido goes into lustful overdrive when he sets eyes on Elise, and possessiveness and heartfelt jealousy are close to follow. Colt tries to establish his dominance with the first kiss he takes from Elise, and her body flares to life when he exerts his loving power over her; however, Elise feels her own sexual power surge when challenged in the loving way that only Colt knows how to do. Colt believes that it's foolish for him to trust his feelings for the high society princess that he believes will be just like his mother, but when he tries to contain the fire that blazes between them, he finds that the fire is past containment stage and is well on its way to total consumption.

If I could have given this more than a 5 star rating, I would have. This was such a well-written and well thought out story that it will be hard for any reader to put it down once they start. Colt gives new meaning to the term alpha-male, he is the most dominantly sexy, adoringly loving cowboy that has graced the pages of such beautifully written story - that I've had the pleasure of reading - in a long while. I'm sure all readers, like myself, will want to know... when do we get to hear about Cade and Mace, and where can I get one of these sexy Tanner men?

I am a sucker for any kind of western, modern or historical. This book had me hooked from beginning to end. Colt has a ranch and wants to own it completely. When his uncle passes away he thinks that he will inherit the other half, to make him sole owner. Well imagine his surprise when his uncle's wife inherits that half instead. Well the uncle's wife passes it on to her young gorgeous neice, Elise. Colt plans to buy Elise out, but that is not what she wants. Elise wants to break away from her controlling rich family and have a fresh start. She wants to be co owner of the ranch and be actively involved. When Colt finds out about this he is livid. He tries to push her away and not be helpful at the ranch in hopes of her packing up and going back home. But that doesn't work. She makes it clear that she is here to stay. Soon after she arrives they realize that they are attracted to each other and sparks start to fly. Colt has a hard time commiting. His mother walked out on him and his brothers, never coming back to be part of their lives. He thinks Elise will do the same thing and so he puts up a invisible wall between them. He will not give his heart completely.

I liked Elise. She was a strong character who knew what she wanted. She was going to have it all or nothing, and that included Colt. If he could not give himself completely then she would walk away. I admired her for that. She was also fun and had a great sense of humor. Her and Colt had not only great sex and chemistry, but they also had a strong friendship. Colt was strong, tall, sexy and completely protective over Elise. I loved the way he talked to her, the way he cared for her. He seemed to be strong and dominating, but also gentle and kind at the same time. This book did not dissapoint. I loved everything about it.

The four stars go towards the wonderful hero and heroine of the story. Without their interesting interactions, there literally would have been no story. More descriptive details about ranch life and work in general, not to mention the high society life that Elise came from too, would have made this a one hundred precent solid five star read. I've read some books where I felt the interactions between the hero and heroine alone made the book a five star, but while good, "Colt's Choice" could have stood for a little more help in the details department.

Elise Hamilton hails from the posh high society life of Virginia. Raised to carry on the family traditions of charity events, parties and the family business, Elise has never really felt she fit into that lifestyle. Her true passion is the outdoors. When an opportunity calls her to Texas to take over her inheritance, part ownership in a ranch, she jumps at the chance to finally have something she can call her own. Dropping her job and everything else back home, she literally races to Texas and straight into the steadfast and distrustful scrutiny of the other owner - Colt Tanner. Colt was raised at the Lonestar ranch, and in turn began raising his brothers at the young age of twenty when their father passed. Some say their dad died of a broken heart, longing for their mother, but the past has remained in the past, or so Colt thinks. He doesn't want to welcome the smiling seemingly sincere Elise, believing she may be just like his flighty high society mother. Determined to prove she has a place at the ranch, Elise stubbornly digs in her heels and challenges the arrogant cowboy to deal with it.

I loved Colt's and Elise's interactions right off the bat. I loved to that they began a relationship so early in the book. It was obvious from the start that she was a genuinely caring person, and Colt was definitely not unaffected by her either. Could it have possibly been something like love at first sight? Maybe so. They felt something for eachother and they went for it. No harm in that, especially when colt makes it clear that he will be the only man for her, and she makes the same claim on him. Colt was a great hero, trying his best to keep her at an emotional distance, but helpless to deny his feelings for her. Elise had incredible patience for a man that had been wounded by maternal betrayal.

As mentioned before, the only area I felt this story was lacking in was the details department. No, I'm not talking about their intimate relationship. While that was less spicy than I'm used to reading from an Ellora's Cave book, it was still a lot of hot fun to read. No, I'm talking about the lack of details about the ranch, Elise's society life back in Virginia. There's even a hint of a conflict between the Tanner men and a neighoring rancher, but it never really gets explored properly, not to mention resolved. Other than that, Colt made for a great hero, thoroughly sensitive and vulnerable at times and Elise was his perfect counterpart, having the patience of a saint with him. So, Read it for a few great character interactions, but don't expect to see any rich descriptions of ranch life, which I was personally hoping for.

I've got one question - can I have Colt please? Seriously, this is one HOT book! As with all of Patrice Michelle's books, I was unable to stop reading until the very end. Although I tend to stick with paranormal reads, I couldn't resist reading what else this author can churn out. Believe me, you won't regret reading any of the books in the Bad in Boots Cowboy series!

..Colt is one sexy cowboy! This is a great story, I enjoyed everything about it.

Colt Tanner thought at long last he would have total control and ownership of Lonestar Ranch, but he was dismayed to learn otherwise. Half of the ranch had been left to him in the will, but the other half had been left to Elise Hamilton of Virginia, and she wasn't planning on selling. He found that out the hard way when she turned up on his doorstep asking he show her how the ranch operates. What Colt hadn't planned on was his intense attraction to Elise. She affected him like no other women he had ever met. When they could not resist each other any longer, and finally gave into their feelings, they were explosive together.

Elise felt like Colt was holding something from her. She felt close to him, but part of him was closed off. When she found out that his mother had deserted his family when he was little because ranch life wasn't for her, she finally had her answer. Colt was afraid she was going to bolt on him too. It would take time to convince him, but Elise was going to make Colt believe in them. Just when things were looking up for them, her former fiancé showed up trying to pull her back to Virginia, and the former life she hated.

I liked Elise and Colt. They had good chemistry, and balanced each other well. They both had baggage to work out, but pride and temper seemed to always get in the way. Good second book in the series.

What do you get when you mix a rough-around-the-edges cowboy with a city girl? A really great story with wonderful characters and a great plot.

Colt Tanner thought he was going to be the sole owner of the Lonestar Ranch, but Elise Hamilton shows up to claim her half. Colt doesn't think she'll be able to last long on the ranch, but Elise is out to prove him wrong.

This is one of my fave books to read. You will want to read it more than once. If you love reading about cowboys, this is the book for you.

"Colt's Choice" is a scrumpdelious read. Colt Tanner is a die hard alpha cowboy, who wants to own his ranch with no outside interference! Along comes Elise Hamilton, who is a silver spoon city girl ready for a change. Needless to say sparks fly & their chemistry sizzle the pages.
This was one of those books that pull you in & you hate to get to the end, but is a 1 that you will enjoy rereading many times & enjoy it as much as the 1st time.
