Leah Reece is the editor-in-chief of Heat, a popular e-zine that talks about everything dealing with sex. Leah wants to write an article about the Sixty-Nine Club, a secretive Dallas sex club located in a restored Mediterranean-style mansion. Leah rents a box at the club and takes along her friend Sandy and her husband Zeke for company. Leah expects to see some kinky sexual acts, but is in for a surprise when she meets Quin Perez who works at the Sixty-Nine Club as a bodyguard for the dangerous owner, Miguel Lucero. Quin makes quite the impression on Leah with his dark looks, muscles and tattoos. When Leah is caught sneaking around the club by Miguel, Quin covers for her She knows Quin is a good guy even if he has been to jail and gives off a dangerous aura.

Quin would love nothing more than to get down Leah's pants. He reads her column and thinks she is smart and beautiful. But Leah is placing herself in danger by trying to uncover the underground acts that occur at the Sixty-Nine Club and the mystery that surrounds Miguel. Quin is afraid Miguel will hurt Leah if she continues on her quest for the truth. She has no idea what she is up against and who Quin really is, but he tries to keep Leah busy in other ways which will lead to a smoldering and intense love affair between the two.

Quin seems to be the ultimate bad boy in this latest erotic romance by Maya Reynolds. Ms. Reynolds shows the inner workings of a dirty underground sex club and how dangerous that lifestyle can be especially when criminals are involved. Leah is a self assured woman who loves sex and because Quin is a bit mysterious, she is very turned on by him. But Quin is not what he seems. He treats Leah as if she is precious and because of this, you will find yourself falling for Quin just as Leah has.

The loves scenes are a bit too purple in their descriptions from a woman's clitoris being called a miniature penis and pleasure button, but some readers may enjoy that language. I wasn't too keen on those descriptions and couldn't help but laugh out loud. But with that aside, Quin and Leah have some nice chemistry and their couplings are hot and heavy.

Quin has a loving family which he introduces Leah to who also gives her more insight into the man she shares her body with. Both Sandy and Zeke are also there to give Leah advice.

Bad Boy should appeal to fans of the erotic who enjoy a touch of suspense while reading.

I liked this. I liked the main characters! A good read for a cold winter night. I liked it enough to order Reynolds "Bad Girl". Sex scenes were hot enough. Nothing shocking, no weird kinks, just a hunky Latino guy and likable, independent girl falling for one another. I'll be interested to read more from this promising author.

STORY BRIEF:
Leah is the creator and manager of HEAT, an e-magazine. She goes undercover to the 69 Club, a sex club, to write an article. Quin was recently released from jail and now works for the owner of the club, Lucero. Leah and Quin are hot for each other and start seeing each other. When Lucero discovers Leah's identity, he intends to do her harm to keep his club and other activities out of the public eye.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
The first ¾ of the book was well done. I enjoyed the characters getting to know each other and their lustful relationship development. They come from two different worlds and blend well. She's blond, an only child, with a wealthy father. He's working class Hispanic from a large family. The sex scenes were good. I was not as pleased with the last ¼ of the book which was mostly suspense. Both Leah and Quin were in danger. This part was ok, but it was predictable and too much like other suspense stories. On balance, the book is above average for the relationship development.

I have one problem which is the publisher's fault (not the author's). Quin has tattoos on his biceps, pecs and forearms, but the picture on the cover does not.

To date I've read one other book by Maya Reynolds. My 3.5 star review of "Bad Girl" copyright 2007 was posted 2/9/08.

I really enjoyed Maya Reynolds' first book, Bad Girl and couldn't put it down! It had a certain element of erotic suspense that intrigued me to buy her follow up book, Bad Boy.

The follow up book was a bit subdued compared to Bad Girl. It was a good read but the plot is basically the same and it could have been one huge book with two sections because it was somewhat predictable.

Despite my opinion, I like Maya Reynolds' style of writing. I look forward to hearing more from this talented writer.

In the Dallas suburb Oak Cliff, chief editor of the e-zine ultra popular Heat, Leah Reece covers the hip 69 Club that caters to any cravings of affluent swingers. While in the club, she meets the owners' bodyguard, Quin Perez, who admits he enjoys her column especially her imagination. She modestly gives credit to everyone else, but he cuts her off saying he reads her column not the magazine.

Both are attracted to one another, a feeling neither wants. He understands the need to focus on his job and not a sexy editor; she understands the need to focus on her job and not a sexy bodyguard. However, unable to ignore the heat, they begin to fall in love, but end up working together under the covers and undercover as they investigate a sex auction.

The sequel to the police procedural erotic romance BAD GIRL is an intriguing erotic romantic investigative thriller. Sandy the voyeur and Zeke the cop, co-stars of the previous Dallas area tale, introduce Leah to Quin before they take off on their own escapades and sexcapades. Readers will enjoy the heat of Leah and Quin, which can intrude on the crime caper inquiry, but is fun to read as they discuss the "Adventures of Letterman" (nod to the Electric Company) whether a tattoo letter "P" should add one more diagonal line to it.
