Being such a fan of the first movie with its comic timing, excellent direction that Michael always brings (Though Pearl Harbor was crap) and a great score (yet is sounds suspiciously like Speed's Hmmmmmm) anyway...i was surprised to find that I loved the second one even more...and the freeway chase scene rivals The Matrix Reloaded (Yes I said it!!) I think everything was better because Will Smith had more time to work on his comic/action skills between these films, and Michael definetly knows how to play to HIS audience as does Jerry Bruckhiemer. And the camera work in this film was turned up to 11! the 360 degree shooting scene going from room to room through bullet shots! GENIOUS! I definetly can see this film spawning at least one more sequel and is the Letha Weapon of our generation....with lots more blood and a more hardcore style of comedy.

... Well I finally got to see Bad Boys 2 a few weeks ago and I was very pleased. I can't wait for the dvd to come out.
The movie is ACTION packed to say the least. There is action, brief nudity, a lot of cursing, violent and digusting killings, and a lot of drugs. It is not a kid's movie and I was disapointed to see how many people brought their kids with them to see this movie.
Anyway, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence make a great team and yes their jokes were sometimes annoying and dry but not enough to be overshadowed by the really funny scenes. I liked the first Bad Boys film but I really feel that the sequel is much better. I would not be surprised to see a third installment.
If you like action, good special effects and great stunt coordination, this film is for you. I can't wait to watch it again!

Filmmakers are being continually challenged to come up with new and inventive ways to stage a car chase, and for my money one of the best comes in this hit action sequel.

Towards the beginning of this movie our intrepid heroes are trying to save Sydney, a DEA agent (who just happens to be the New York-based sister of one of the Miami cops - don't ask) from a pursuing gang of Haitian thugs.

Problem is, after a messy gun battle (which seems to have employed more bullets than in a small war) the thugs give chase to the DEA agents SUV in one of those trucks used for transporting new cars to dealers (you know the type).

As Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's characters (Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett) try to keep pace, the thugs attempt to throw off the chasing police units by releasing and hurling cars down the ramps of the trailer and into the street. Thus we have a chase that not only involves the standard dodging of cars in the roadway, but also the dodging of flying and tumbling vehicles.

It's a white-knuckle ride and full marks go to Michael (The Rock) Bay and team in creating another great car chase culled from a simple idea.

In fact the action scenes and shoot-em-ups are really what save this 147-minute movie. Inevitably meant to try to grab the same crowd that flocked to see the LETHAL WEAPON cop-buddy movies, the teaming of Smith and Lawrence unfortunately seem to lack the broad audience appeal that made Gibson and Glover a success.

There's a good deal of gore in this picture to. One of the bloodiest we have involves the main villain (a Cuban drug kingpin) delivering a Russian mobster's brother to him in pieces, dismembered limbs sticking out of barrel.

There are also some comic-misfires in this movie.

i got no idea what all the critics are thinking or why they even have a job. this movie got terrible reviews from the critics and why? too over the top? well for the first time in ages they made a tight action movie that was a hard R. most pg-13 movies are the same as R movies but without the blood. anyway this is a very entertaining action movie. a non stop thrill ride as all those washed-up critics put it. while definately not for the kids, if your in the mood for something that makes you all tense from the amazing action, then practiclly fallin out of your seat with laughter. i mean if you not grabbin yer seat, yer fallin out of it. great all around shooting scenes and the best, most intense car chases ever caught on film; plus hilarious jokes. you cant beat it. buy it if you like action films at all. also a must if you want to show off your home theatre setup. at least rent it if you like action, you wont regret it. it is rated R for- strong violence and action, pervasive language, and sexuality.

While the original Bad Boys (1995) was a decent buddy cop flick, it suffered from trying too hard to be funny, lacked focus at times, did not have a heavyweight villain, and did not take the action to overload levels. None of those issues exist in the sequel, Bad Boys II (2003), a wild, hard hitting crime adventure directed by Michael Bay (The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor), where the violence and action are pushed to extremes, and reality is not a major concern.

Bad Boys II is the kind of over the top action extravaganza that producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Con Air, National Treasure, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End), has become known for. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return as Miami police detectives Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett, who are on the trail of drug kingpin Johnny Tapia (Jordi Molla). Tapia's operation is involved with members of the Russian mob, who are distributing ecstasy through night clubs. Marcus's sister Syd (Gabrielle Union), a DEA agent, is involved in an undercover operation involving the Russians, helping them launder drug money.

Opening with a raid on a white supremacist group, where Burnett gets shot in the ass, Bad Boys II incorporates some humorous elements, but these are channeled more effectively, than in the previous film. Lawrence and Smith remain a solid team producing plenty of jive and banter, but they are definitely taking their work more seriously this time, as family time and romance are pushed to the periphery. Even with a running time of 144 minutes, there really aren't too many wasted moments, as most of the emphasis is on the development of the central story, dark humor, and dynamic action scenes.
