5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff...
Funny name aside, this is a cook's dream. I was introduced to it during a cooking class. A chef mentioned that Butt Rub has many uses beyond barbecue. It's a great flavor enhancer (no msg) to almost any meal.

2.0 out of 5 stars too salty for a general purpose rub
Maybe OK for a boston butt, but as a general purpose rub I find it too heavy on the salt. Admittedly, just how salty is "too salty" is a highly subjective thing, and some others obviously like this rub quite a lot. But looking at the nutrition info on the label, the sodium content in this rub is substantially higher than most other commercial rubs/seasons I've tried. So...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best rub ever, February 20, 2010
This review is from: Bad Byron's Butt Rub - 4.5oz (Misc.)
I have tried all sorts of rubs and have found some good ones, but they come at a hefty price, this is by far the best rub for the price bar none. Also, I use it on every type of meat, chicken, pork, steak and seafood. It is the only dry rub I will use for steak!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Multi Purpose Seasoning!, November 13, 2010

I grill and barbeque a lot and use "rubs" that I make and a very few commercial products, mainly because most commercial rubs aren't all that good. Byron's, however is the real deal: since buying this stuff, I have used it on ribs, pork butt roast, steaks and turkey. It produces consistantly great results on grilled food, low & slow barbeque and even on oven roasted meats. It adds a nice zip to soups, salads and veggies too. I will be seasoning the Thanksgiving turkey with it at the request of my SO.

I concur with the reviewer who urged potential customers to get the big size: it gets used up real fast!!

So just be forewarned that if your salt preference is more on the conservative side, this may not be the product for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deelish!, January 2, 2010
My husband and I use this on basically everything we throw on the grill or smoker. It's a good seasoning "go to" when you need something quick too. My husband is an avid BBQ eater, viewer, wanna be judge, and quite honestly, I prefer his creations over anything we've eaten at a restaurant. I digress from my review to give you that facet of our history in order to say other than a rub that we make to test, this is what we use now and for as long as we've had a grill. Usually the rubs we have made pass by the way side b/c we prefer this to anything else we've tried.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent "everything"rub, January 15, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I use this rub on everything including chicken, ribs, turkey and the obvious Pork shoulders. The seasonings come together to create a spicy bold flavor that just adds to the already present flavorful meat your are cooking. Great with sides also.

So far, used the rub on pork chops and it turned out great. Can't wait until summer for BBQ ribs.

This stuff is great on everything. This is the best spice blend I've used. I even use it on weird stuff like mac & cheese and popcorn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good tasing rub!!, August 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bad Byron's Butt Rub - 4.5oz (Misc.)
I bought this along with Pappy's and Stubb's rub to taste test them all. Overall Byron's was the best tasting/flavor. I like the smokiness of this rub on the skirt steak that we grilled. I went back for 2nds and 3rds. :) As with all rubs, there is a lot of salt. So you have to be careful how much you rub on. Overall the best tasting.. Very pleased.
