Biography

Biography by Jason Ankeny

Formed in 1973, the British hard rock outfit Bad Company was a supergroup comprised of ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell, former Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, and singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, both previous members of Free. Powered by Rodgers' muscular vocals and Ralphs' blues-based guitar work, Bad Company was the first group signed to Led… Read more in Amazon's Bad Company Store

Editorial Reviews

Bad Company is the eponymous debut album by hard rock band Bad Company. The album was recorded in November 1973. The album peaked at #1 on the Billboard's Pop Albums chart (North America). Since then the album has sold in excess of five million copies according to the RIAA.The singles 'Can't Get Enough' (which was to feature in an advertisement for Levi's jeans in 1999) and 'Movin' On' peaked at #5 and #19 respectively. 'Rock Steady', 'Bad Company' and 'Ready for Love' (the latter originally recorded by BadCo guitarist Mick Ralphs during his tenure with Mott the Hoople) are also 'classic rock' radio staples.Track listingSide oneCan't Get Enough - 4:16 Rock Steady - 3:46 Ready for Love - 5:01 Don't Let Me Down - 4:22 Side twoBad Company - 4:50 The Way I Choose - 5:05 Movin' On - 3:21 Seagull - 4:06

5.0 out of 5 stars Real damn good, September 22, 2010
This review is from: Bad Company [180g Vinyl] (Vinyl)
This is one of the great albums of 70's era rock. I own my original copy, the first issued CD, and I'm still planning to buy the 180G re-issue. I love this album that much. I always thought Paul Rodgers never got the true respect deserved. One of the marks for me is 2 notes sung and you know who it is. He's in that league with Robert Plant, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, Lemmy and Ozzy. Stakes were high here, first issue on Swan Song, would this be better than Free ? Right or wrong this was going to be compared to Led Zeppelin. In then end it's not `Zep but it's own sound and group. This is their best and it's real damn good.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Great Album, September 12, 2009
By
This review is from: Bad Company [180g Vinyl] (Vinyl)

I have the orginal album that I bought in 1974.
I do believe that out of all the albums that Bad Company had made this ablum is the best.
Bad Company had set a new standard for Rock and Roll since the Love Child Era
For all the hits that Bad Company had made there is also Bad Company Triology
What made this album great is that it was not overpowering as hard rock is.
