5.0 out of 5 stars Sing A Song
Once in a while there comes a song that has a memorable melody that plays in one's mind through out the day. "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter is just that song. It bears reminiscence of pop radio during the 1970s from the likes of Stephen Bishop, Andrew Gold, Leo Sayer, or Elton John. And for adult contemporary listeners, the song may follow in the same vein as Train, Jamie...

3.0 out of 5 stars One Hit Wonder for Daniel Powter's Bad Day
Somewhere in the commercial world, Powter's "Bad Day" covered ground, which is how I came to hearing it. If you've not viewed the video n UTube, now's a good time. "Bad Day" is actually a wonderful story of two people who do their mundane jobs, get criticized by their boss after all their hard work, take a lunch, and then get bored and finally taking their creativity...

And for adult contemporary listeners, the song may follow in the same vein as Train, Jamie Cullen, or James Blunt. The lyrics are catchy and one can easily sing along with, and the piano accompaniment and the light lush strings in the background give the song its signature pop trait. How could Powter go wrong when he has the production of renowned recorder producer Mitchell Froom (Crowded House and Elvis Costello) and Jeff Dawson. In addition to the main track of the cd single are the tracks "Stupid Like This" and the Beatlesque "Lost On The Stoop." And for a bonus, this package includes the "Bad Day" video, which only enhances the presentation of the song visually with its quirky storyline. For those who have not seen the video, this will be a delight to see.

Indeed, "Bad Day" is the type of song that will make anyone's day. No doubt, this is one of those songs where the volume should be cranked up. I highly recommend this song, and check it out today.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a CD-SINGLE!!!!!!, August 4, 2006

To the other reviewers that were shocked. Read the description about this and other CD's. They say CD-Single or Maxi-Single. That means it's usually only a song or two. Usually remixes of the same song. Plus there is usually a list of the songs on the CD in the description. You weren't ripped off. You just didn't take the time to read about what you were buying.

3.0 out of 5 stars One Hit Wonder for Daniel Powter's Bad Day, January 29, 2011

Somewhere in the commercial world, Powter's "Bad Day" covered ground, which is how I came to hearing it. If you've not viewed the video n UTube, now's a good time. "Bad Day" is actually a wonderful story of two people who do their mundane jobs, get criticized by their boss after all their hard work, take a lunch, and then get bored and finally taking their creativity out the door and onto a window. Each actually had lunch next to the other without realizing it. As each deface the window with their take of what their day is like, he, thinking one needs an umbrella in the rain, she simply letting it all hang out, and a frown. On the final day, they bump into each other in the rain, he offers a little bit of the umbrella, she somewhat perplexed, and both hail a cab--you know how this ends. Appropriately titled "Bad Day", it's lovely music to smile after you've have such a horrendous uneventful day...I loved it and still listen to it after a hard day's work at the office.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great first single!, August 19, 2005
This review is from: Bad Day (Audio CD)
I saw the music video for this song a few days ago and it was stuck in my head for days! Canadian singer Daniel Powter is definitely talented, and it shows in his first single. I cannot wait for his self-titled album to be released in October so that I can listen to the rest of the songs.
