Bad Girl, Good Music,
By Rod Reviewer (VA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bad Girl (Audio CD)
Ok, so Latoya Jackson might not be the greatest singer in the world. But please give her some credit for not trying to do the same kind of music that Michael, Janet, Jermaine, or Rebbie puts out. Truly, the music on this CD is her own. Frankly, I find this CD to be extremely refreshing, although I think her best work to date is on "From Nashville to You", a country CD she put out about 5 years ago. If you can find it, pick it up. It is a true gem.

every artist have their musical peak and this is toy-toy's. the diversity is staggering- the affectionate He's My Brother, the devilish Bad Girl, the tear-jerking Somewhere. this album finds latoya at the height of her powers- a performing dynamo that's just OUT OF CONTROL!!! this artistic work has stumbled it's way into my all-time top 10 album list- WAY TO GO BAD GIRL!!!

This shows a new LaToya, people are probaly not used to hearing. I myself loves it, she not only proves that Micheal and Janet are not the only singers in the family. She also proves that she is a talented singer with a beautiful voice.

I find "Bad Girl" a good album indeed. The best song for me is "You and me": really a masterpiece! Thank you, La Toya, for the great emotion you give me every time i listen to this song!

THIS ALBUM EXISTS IN MY RECORD COLLECTION IN MANY VARIED INTERNATIONAL FORMATS THAT ARE NOW DELETED. FROM THE FIRST TO LAST TRACK, IT NEVERS WEARS THIN ON ME. IT IS DEFINITELY AN ALBUM TO GET THE PARTY STARTED. MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE TRACKS INCLUDE BAD GIRL, RESTLESS HEART AND THE CAMPISHLY BRILLIANT HE'S MY BROTHER. I SUSPECT LA TOYA MADE THIS ALBUM WITH DIFFERENT INTENT THAN HOW I PERCEIVE IT. A TRULY TIMELESS CLASSIC THAT DRAWS MOSTLY FROM EUROPEAN HOUSE INFLUENCES. A MUST FOR ANYONE WHO CONSIDERS THEMSELVES A TRUE COLLECTOR OF TRASHY GOOD TIME RECORDS.

La Toya Is Tight...Period,
By Michael (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bad Girl (Audio CD)
I don't have this CD but I have heard most of the songs. I've heard Sexual Feeling, Bad Girl, Restless Heart, Somewhere, You Can Count On Me, Be My Lover, and He's My Brother. These songs are all tight. I would just like to say that this CD was NOT released in 1995. This a re-release of the original album Bad Girl and it has a different (and better) album cover. Everyone needs to stop hating on her. She makes tight music. Listen to "You're Gonna Get Rocked" and see if you wanna hate then. And why is everyone trynna talk about Sexual Feeling? That song is not funny, it's tight. Janet does basically the same thing in her song "Would You Mind" and no one laughs at that! La Toya is tight period and anyone who doesn't like her can take a long walk off a short cliff

Phat, Dope & Bangin'!!! * * * * * *,

This is an EXCELLENT album of phat dance joints & sultry love jams from the most talented Jackson! I give it six stars! It's a must for any cd collector of phat/down divas! Get it today, you won't be sorry. Every song is da bomb & there's no filler. All of LaToya's albums are original & priceless! I also recommend her albums: "LaToya", "My Special Love", "Imagination", "Heart Don't Lie", "LaToya Jackson", "From Nashville To You", & "Stop! In The Name of Love" (a.k.a. "Dance Collection"). Forget about the hackneyed/whack Michael & the overrated/played-out Janet!! LATOYA RULZ!!!

Pure laughable cheese that belongs in the bargain bin.,
By Peter (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) - See all my reviews

I can't stop laughing! You have to hear the song called Sexual Feeling. I guarantee you will not be able to listen to this song with a straight face. It's so incredibly stupid!!! You get four minutes or more of her moaning and sighing and being sultry while she repeats phrases and words like "come closer" and "i like it" and "push it" and "won't you come inside" over and over. I'm serious!! I love to collect truely BAD and horribly cheesy cds, and this one was a bargain basement gem. Latoya's vocals have never been strong, and she sure prooves it here. This cd is a mess. It alternates between bland and being a parody of 80s dance pop. Lyrically it's a laughfest from start to finish. The only passable songs are You and Me, and He Is My Brother, which is a song about her brother Michael, and even has a speeded up synth sample from his song 'Bad'. "Playboy" is another one that will have you snickering before long with the cliched lyrics. Hard to believe she's one of the Jacksons. Her vocal range is so limited and weak. I guess she figured that because she's a Jackson that it automatically means she can put out a cd.

Review for "Bad Girl" by LaToya Jackson,
By Tameron Cantrell (Nassau, The Bahamas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bad Girl (Audio CD)
LaToya is still trying to even come close to the success of her 1984 album "Heart Don't Lie". This CD is a good effort... sure, the music sounds a little "eighties" but there's a few standout tracks. The title track is just one of those songs you can listen to over and over without getting sick of it. The soft songs on the album are pretty good. "Somewhere" is an awesome song but LaToya's voice doesn't sound all that good on it. "Sexual Feeling" sounds quite ridculous at times, with lyrics like "Now push it" and "Come inside my walls", and her making sexual moans and groans in the background doesn't exactly help. "He's My Brother", obviously about Michael Jackson, is actually really good, even though it sounds kind of cheesy at times. This album has been released like 7 different times, with different covers and titles. It's a shame that two of LaToya's best songs "Piano Man" and "Do The Salsa" don't appear on this edition of "Bad Girl", although they do appear on the edition that I own. Give this CD a listen. I can't really promise you that you'll love it or hate it...

maxi cd: Bad Girl,
By Sinitta (Germany) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bad Girl (Audio CD)
The title refers to the Maxi CD which has an extended version, single version and the song Piano man - all written by the rather famous writers Klarman-Weber (Chaka Khan and others) - and it's all quite good & catchy & well produced
