I bought this book based on the great reviews here. Huge mistake. I'd have appreciated a little warning first. If I could, I would have rated this book less than a star. Here's why:
*********** SPOILERS ************ It starts with the heroine, Sandy, spying on her neighbors with a telescope from her condo. Mr. Dominant being one of them. From there on she makes one stupid mistake after another. Sorry, there is no other way to describe it. I am more than ready to suspend belief when reading a book but Sandy made it almost impossible. One night Sandy receives a call from a stranger who tells her that he knows what she has been doing and that he wants Justice (he says that's his name too). Sandy freaks out for being caught and decides to play along with this guy until she can figure out what to do. She ends up having phone sex with Justice because he talks dirty and his voice was "the stuff of her fantansies and her body started to respond to the low, intimate sound of his voice" (her words, not mine) and he turns her on (Come on, woman). The whole time she thought he was a blackmailer but still agreed to use sex toys (which he had sent to her condo shortly after the call) for their entertainment??? Yeah, why not? (COME ON). Sandy goes as far as being a "bad girl" in front of a camera for this total stranger. To conceal her identity she wears a mask to cover her face in case the guy decides to record their little session (Come on). * Justice asks Sandy to meet him because he wants to F*** her for real (his words). Long distance sex was not enough for him anymore. Guess what? She says yes. Lucky for Sandy, Justice turns out to be a cop (Zeke, our hero)who is after a bad guy. But Sandy DID NOT know this. Many other unfortune decisions follow. Things that not ever a 10 year old would do. I mean, your life is in danger, you almost got kidnapped once, a black limo stops by your side while you are on the street and you stay there thinking that it might be someone asking for direction?? (Come on). To top it all off, we get to read how Sandy is finally kidnapped, stripped off her clothes, handcuffed, hit with a cane. Rape or attempeted rape is not fun to read about. It's disturbing to say the least. Why put our heroine in that situation? There are other ways to create tension or develope a storyline. Are we readers supposed to feel good and giddy because a hero in shiny armor saves the heroine at the very possible moment? Does that make it alright? Sorry, I don't think so.

Full-figured Sandy has been watching various neighbors in apartments across the street with her telescope for several months. "Mr. Dominant" scares but excites her; she's morbidly fascinated with his aggressive sex play. "Mr. & Mrs. Kinky" are always good for a sex fest; they can't keep their hands off of each other. It's fun to fantasize about "Sweet Cheeks" as he works out on his exercise bike. She worries about the health of "Mrs. Blue Hair." Sandy's not really a pervert - she's a perfectly normal person with a very respectable job. She knows she shouldn't be watching them, but she tells herself she's their guardian angel, watching to make sure they're OK.
Then one evening she gets a phone call from a man who calls himself Justice, and he tells her she's been a bad girl. He knows what she's been doing, and if she doesn't cooperate with him he'll call the police. She would lose her job if anyone found out about her peeping, so she reluctantly agrees. But something about his voice is seductive and erotic, and soon she finds herself not only willing but also eager to do as he asks. I absolutely loved Bad Girl. I devoured it. In this, her debut print novel, Maya Reynolds has created characters with an intense chemistry and a plot that's rock solid. Ms. Reynolds scores extra points for her exceptionally hot use of sex toys, too. At one point I thought to myself, "If this gets any hotter, my panties are going to melt." The hero is what I consider just about perfect: understanding, sexy, strong without being overbearing, creative and genuine with no games or pretences. The heroine is intelligent and very likeable. You know how sometimes you read a book with a terrific hero and a heroine who doesn't quite deserve him? Not so with this book. This is a fast-paced, exceptionally engaging book. Add a suspenseful element of danger and an ending that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and you've got a phenomenal read. I'm not usually a big fan of romantic suspense, but this book may have permanently changed my opinion. I just know I'll eagerly read anything Maya Reynolds writes. Bad Girl has earned not only a place on my keeper shelf, but also a place on my somewhat short list of all-time favorite books. 5 Kisses, Recommended Read, 2 Peppers (voyeurism, hot sex in public) ~Lindy Reviewer, TwoLips Reviews, LLC [...]

Hoo Boy,
By Stephen Parrish (Germany) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bad Girl (Paperback)
BAD GIRL is an erotic suspense novel. Like all good suspense novels it keeps the reader turning pages to discover what happens next. The only difference is the sex scenes are described in graphic detail.
Those scenes work. And so does the story: Sandy, a social worker who peeps on her neighbors through a telescope, is caught by Zeke, a police officer whose subsequent personal involvement interferes with his duty. The plot complicates when Sandy is pursued by one of the neighbors on the other end of the telescope---an underworld figure Zeke knows all too well. BAD GIRL is populated with believable characters and written in vivid detail. Readers looking for a suspense novel spiced up with explicitly graphic sex scenes won't be able to put it down.

I picked this book up on impulse, the book store was closing in 5 minutes and the cover caught my eye and the synopsis sounded okay. I am SO GLAD I BOUGHT IT! I do not read "erotic" books often, but I could not put this book down. The author has taken two characters that are meant for each other and twisted their lives together is a very sensual way. She tugs at your emotions while expressing the characters. In your mind you know that you shouldn't enjoy this...but you give in, just as Sandy does. I loved, loved, loved this book and I really hope she can put out more soon...I will definitely be waiting!

Exciting! Thrilling! Romantic!,
This review is from: Bad Girl (Paperback)
Bad Girl was incredibly sexy and enticing!! I could not put this book down and when I HAD to I couldn't wait to start reading it again. Bad Girl was written in a seductive, tasteful way that sparked arousal in the reader.
The beginning, middle and end of the book was very unexpected and it was a roller coaster of thrilling twists and turns in every chapter. The character is a woman most people could identify with and Maya brought the point home - awesomely! Maya Reynolds is a talented author with a strong, vivid imagination that was expressed very creatively. *****

When a good girl goes bad!,

There are many ways for people to meet. Especially in fiction. But the way these two characters meet, seriously had my "yeah right" meter up on high.
Yet this book is my own guilty pleasure, because while it is totally unbelievable in how these two meet up, I find I can't stop myself from reading it again and again. The heat generated between these two is so hot, that flame-retardant gloves must be worn while handling the book. The sex scenes are raunchy, kinky, wrapped around love, making it an incredible story. Why do I find their meeting up not believable? Well it has do with the fact that Sandy, the main character, is a lonely social worker who gets her jollies by peeping on other's nighttime activities. She gets caught and how she gets caught is by her own peeping tom/stalker. He knows where she lives, her phone number and sends her some photos of her not only peeping but of her fondling herself. In the real world, most of us would think killer, stalker, sick game, yet the game she plays with her own stalker turns her on. I find this so utterly wrong on one level, yet as I stated before I can't stop reading this little book. Turns out her "stalker" is a police officer, Zeke, investigating another person, a mobster, who lives in the building that Sandy peeps into. He just so happens to catch her and instead of turning her in, he finds himself attracted to her. So he decides to scare her by making her get off via the telephone and then later, makes her install a video camera, so he can see her live. See why my "yeah right" meter is up? But what starts out as a super creepy set-up turns into a hot, steamy love story between two very unlikely people. Zeke shows Sandy just how much he is into her, and she grows in the short time they're together. In the midst of their getting to know each other, Sandy inadvertently turns a mobster onto the fact that she peeped on him and his sadistic tendencies. Overall, the story does not back down. Sandy is not a typical size 6 but a size 16. She has issues with her weight and her life, and lives vicariously through others. Zeke, is an Alpha male who wants Sandy regardless of how they met, and he is in fact that rare man who loves his woman a little bit more voluptuous, which Sandy finds hard to believe. By the end of the story, Sandy's growth into a strong confident woman makes this book a keeper and basically wipes out my feelings of how she and Zeke meet. This is what makes a good book great, when the characters grow and move on. Bottom line this story gets a 5. While I can't still believe in their eventual meet-up, I am blown away by the overall eroticism of their coming together. And this is no simple erotic romance, but also has suspense. The mobster, who is a sadistic killer, will stop at nothing to get Sandy and give her his own brand of BDSM. Don't let this book pass you by!

The story was pretty good. Georgous guy falls for size 16 girl. He loves her curves which is the first time she starts feeling good about herself. There is a bad guy who is into bondage and whips his girls. Other than the bad guy, it was a nice erotic story.

I ended up having a love/hate relationship with this book. Bad Girl is a short novel about a young woman who watches her neighbors through a telescope she hides on her balcony. One day, she is caught and the rest is history.
What I liked about this story? The sex scenes were pretty well written and, in the beginning, inventive. After awhile, I actually became bored with them because that was the majority of the text. I understand that it's an erotica novel, but there was hardly any pauses or breaks between each sex scene. What I didn't like about this novel? It seemed pretty realistic in an unrealistic kind of way. The main character, Sandy, excuses her "late-night hobby" by saying she is just looking out for her neighbors. While that may be a good excuse, everybody can see right through it, including Zeke. When Zeke calls her out on her hobby, she reacts pretty much the way I suspect any woman would: she obeys. This created some delicious scenes. However, Zeke finds out about her hobby because he accidently sees her moving her telescope back into her house. What I find comical is that he threatens her for spying on her neighbors when he pretty much stalks Sandy after initially seeing her. Not only does he do a background check, he literally stalks her when she leaves her house to go to work or hang out with her friends. He takes mental notes of certain attributes which come in handy later after the two actually meet. That brings us to Sandy and Zeke meeting. At first, Zeke was only planning on scaring her out of her hobby and she only obeyed so she wouldn't be exposed. That escalated into amazing phone sex. Apparently, this phone sex was so awesome that the two couldn't stay away and had to meet so they could have incredible real sex. This part of the story progressed so quickly, I felt that Reynold's rushed it just to get to the sex scenes. I also felt she rushed the emotional part of their relationship. Zeke, who is keeping an eye on one of Sandy's neighbors for his job, is immediately defensive and protective of Sandy when said neighbor, who happens to be a mobster, shows interest in her. I can understand wanting to protect someone from harm, but it felt as if Zeke was more emotional involved instead of just being a good Samaritan. All in all, what little plotline there was, made the pauses in between sex scenes interesting enough. The sex scenes were creative and tasty, but actually became tedious after awhile. Not necessarily a novel to take serious, but entertaining enough.

Well paced and HOT suspense novel. I usually don't read romances but a friend suggested this and I read the first few pages of hers. I was hooked. Bought my own copy and devoured it. It has suspense, humor, real characters and a plot that just wouldn't let me put it down. Oh, did I mention that I had to have a cigarette after reading it. Whew!
