1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Get Fooled Again - These are DIFFERENT Monks, March 24, 2000
By A Customer
PLEASE BE ADVISED! THESE ARE NOT THE MONKS FROM "BLACK MONK TIME". I am not saying this album is bad OR good (well, actually it is kinda trite), just that THIS ISN'T the same 1960s US GIs in Germany and that whole scene.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bringing back memories of Lake Muscoka finally found on CD, November 26, 1999
By ROBBIN MACQUEEN (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
I used to listen to this on vinyl in the late 70's as my friends and I partyed in a cottage on Lake Muskoka. I am still playing the album even though it is warped and has beer spilled on it. Now on CD it is probably one of the most fun "Punk" albums ever released. It is the sounds of the more carefree 70's when fun ruled the days and political correctness had yet to be born.

5.0 out of 5 stars FUN MUSIC WITH SERIOUS MUSICAL CONTENT, February 24, 2001
By A Customer
I stumbled upon this recording by complete accident. I was searching for Hudson Ford records when I discoverd they had made this album after Hudson Ford called it a day. All I can say is that this CD is fantastic! It is really fun to listen to, as there is no heavy, serious mood lurking in the shadows. It is Punk without being to serious about it. And with musical talent such as John Ford and Richard Hudson (both formerly of The Strawbs and Hudson Ford) writing most of the songs as well as sharing production duties, there is no shortage of musical content or great musicianship either. And if you like this, I urge you to check out the second Monks album, "Suspended Animation", as it is just as much fun to listen to.
